- TriviaJennifer Grey had her nose surgically altered after the film wrapped. When several shots needed to be re-taken, you can see an obvious change in her appearance.
- GoofsEarly in the film, an American skipper is shown admiring and touching a "winged keel" prior to America losing the America's Cup in 1983. However, the "winged keel" design was a fiercely guarded secret, only known to select Australians until they revealed its design after their historic 1983 America's Cup victory. There was no way an American skipper knew of its design prior to 1983 and there were certainly no "winged keel" yachts in existence in the US prior to 1983.
- Quotes
Will: We're going to need as much waterline as we can get.
Joe: I've factored in the average weather in that part of Australia over the last 20 years. We've got to play the percentages.
Will: You mean compromise?
Joe: Yeah, of course. You always get to a point where you have to stop torturing yourself and play the percentages. You're afraid of committing yourself, you have the desire for perfection.
Will: What's wrong with perfection?
Joe: Nothing, if you're God, and you're prepared to wait 500 million years for it to evole. But we have to start building this boat next week.

character, Will Parker, is loosely based on Dennis Connor and his performance at the 1983 and 1987 America's Cups. One of the few movies about sailboat
racing, does turn heavy-handed at some points, but overall is an appreciable, tightly made film with high production values. I would recommend it.
