This is a sappy little ape-man movie where Kenny Bee plays the role of the ape-turned-human. He develops a friendship with Suki Kwan (Nina Chi), an animal park manager.
Sandra Ng is the comic relief in the movie, playing the villain's niece. She serves up quite a lot of gags and cliché slapstick jokes in the plot, while Wah Yuen is typecast as the main villain in the story, like he has in many other movies before.
The chemistry between Kenny Bee and Nina Li is the highlight of the movie, but that's not saying too much as what we're dealt with is some sappy moments and a slow plot. There are some moments that will tug at your heart strings, but it's average entertainment at best.
Grade C
