Goofs
The Frying Dragon team won the Weapons, Men's Fighting, and Breaking competitions and came in second in the Ladies' Kata. Yet somehow after that they manage to only be tied with Stone Dojo.

Alternate versions
The original UK video version has an entire scene removed, at the end of the film the nunchuck display that Barry Gabrewski does as part of the competition is missing due to censorship rules in the UK at that time. Additional cuts were made to other nunchaku and throwing stars footage, bringing the cuts total to 4 mins 38 secs.

Great movie!

I had the pleasure of being a crowd scene extra during the filming of the tournament scenes. Some excellent martial arts technicians showed up to demonstrate their skills.

The movie has been compared to The Karate Kid, but it stands on its own legs. Good acting throughout and a good storyline. I got a kick out of the scenes filmed at Lamar High School - my alma mater.
