At the time of the filming, the group seen in the movie were actual Las Vegas-based skydivers, though they did not perform in Elvis costumes. Director Andy Bergman requested the group for the filming of the wedding scene. After the release of Honeymoon in Vegas, the group received so much publicity that they restyled themselves "The Flying Elvi" (to distinguish them from a then-popular professional wrestling trio known as "The Flying Elvises") and made themselves available for weddings and entertainment. Though their original roister has changed since the film's release, the Flying Elvi are still flying as of 2010.
