Production began in 1990, but ran out of money early into filming and the project has since been abandoned, with no plans to restart production or filming.
The producer, Jerry Kutner, was arrested in Belize for embezzlement during the production, which also let to shutting down another upcoming project of his company, "Le Tigre", a mythical journey set after the fall of Dien Biehn Phu to be directed by Polish auteur Andrzej Zulwaski starring Dolph Lundgren.
