I had never actually heard about this 1987 Hong Kong horror comedy titled "Ling Chen Wan Can" (aka "Vampire's Breakfast") prior to sitting down in 2023 to watch it for the very first time.
And seeing that the movie had Kent Cheng on the cast list, I figured that there was a chance of this 1987 movie from writer Hing-Ka Chan and director Chung Wang to be a watchable one.
The storyline in "Ling Chen Wan Can", as written by Hing-Ka Chan, was actually fair enough. I mean, it wasn't exactly the most creative or profound of storylines seen in horror comedy, but it worked out well enough. The movie was watchable, but hardly an outstanding gem in the Hong Kong horror comedy cinema. So I hadn't really been missing out on something great here.
The acting performances in the movie were good.
The special effects in the movie were adequate. I mean, the vampire make-up effects were a bit dubious, but it added a goofy element to the movie in a way.
My rating of "Ling Chen Wan Can" lands on a five out of ten stars.
