Dilip Kumar was signed for the film in 1982. He kept having problems with the producers. They finally replaced him with Raaj Kumar who gave them even more problems.
The film was delayed for 3 years causing it to flop when it released. It was launched in 1982.
Raaj Kumar told the media that his sister rewrote the script of the film and was not paid by the producers .
The producers needed Raaj Kumar to dub for the film but he flat out refused. He insisted a romantic song be picturised on him and Shababa Azmi in Kashmir. The producers not wanting to delay the film any further agreed to his stipulation. Raaj Kumar was holidaying with his family in Kashmir. So shooting the song was very convenient for Raaj Kumar. The song appeared in the titles of the film.
Mala Sinha daughter Pratibha was offered the film but Mala Sinha rejected the offer. Mala felt Pratibha was too young to become a actress.
