Many years ago, even when I was still going to school, discipline problems included tardiness, forgetting to do your homework, or at worst, smoking in the washroom!! Recently, schools have been burdened with tragedies such as drug over doses and violent crimes, including murders... Families are disseminated and over burdened with high expectations and seriously low budgets!! This means they cannot supervise their children as effectively as they should!! "Bronx Zoo" was one of the first television shows to point this out!! NBC produced and created television shows in the late 1980's that exemplified superior programming, especially on conventional networks!! Dialog and situations pinpointed human trepidations in a way that had not been depicted too much on television before! I, for one, thought "Bronx Zoo" was an excellent TV Show!! David Wilson and Ed Asner were particularly fantastic as educators in the abysmal New York City Public School system!! Identification with our troubled education system is not something that should only be portrayed on television, rather, it should be of national interest to everyone!! Even in affluent suburbia, the public high schools are being relegated to glorified baby sitting services with Olympic size swimming pools!!! The average American citizen has a very poor command of the language!! We spend enough money on every child every year for them to know how many letters there are in the alphabet, especially by age 17!! "Bronx Zoo" illustrates an accurate despondence that afflicts our public high schools today, by stressing that the deplorable combat zone factor which perennially prevails in inner city public schools, is a direct hindrance for all parties concerned!! This abhorrent adversarial situation in our public schools, is an insidious monster which looms large in prohibiting a safe learning environment!! I thought "Bronx Zoo" was an excellent T.V. Show and I wish there could be more shows like it!!
