Based on events that occurred in 1985 at R.L. Paschel High School in Fort Worth, Texas. The gang was the Legion of Doom. Actual names and locations are not used in the movie because once incarcerated, the members of the Legion of Doom were prohibited from doing books or movies about the gang.
Almost identical to the theatrical release "Dangerously Close" (1986), including a few of the same actors.
Danny De La Paz who plays the gang member Carlos in this film reprises a very similiar role he played in the movie Boulevard Nights. Music from that film can be heard during his confrontation with Keanu Reeves.
The Brotherhood of Justice wears masks similar to those used in another Keanu Reeves film, Point Break. Reeves even wears a Richard Nixon mask.
Kiefer Sutherland and Gary Riley also appeared together in Stand by Me (1986).
