When Myron Castleman looks down into the street from the balcony, the shadows are cast in a different direction to those on the balcony.
The phone cord is severely knotted the first morning at elbow-height, even after being stretched fully around the corner. But the second morning, it's perfectly coiled.

The main character was walking around and carrying his briefcase by its handle, so everything should fall to the bottom (the hinged side). But when he sits down and opens the briefcase on his lap, everything inside (like his sandwich and juice box and calculator) is neatly arranged without anything holding each item in place.
