John Amos died of congestive heart failure at a hospital in Inglewood, California, according to a death certificate obtained by People.

No autopsy was performed and the certificate stated that the actor’s remains were cremated on Aug. 30, nine days after he died. Amos’ son Kelly Christopher reported his death to Los Angeles County, per the outlet.

The celebrated actor, who passed away on August 21, 2024 at the age of 84, came to the performing arts from the gridiron. He was signed as a free agent by the Denver Broncos in 1964, and caught on with the Kansas City Chiefs in 1967. But, in between those very brief stints, he mostly played semi-pro ball. Jack Hogan, who most famously played Pfc William G. Kirby on ABC’s WWII-set series Combat!, died in his sleep Wednesday, December 6, according to the curator of an online community dedicated to Combat! He was 94.

Hogan played Pfc Kirby on 111 episodes of the long-running drama opposite Rick Jason, Vic Morrow and Pierre Jalbert. Robert Altman directed many episodes of the show, which was on the air from 1962-1967. It was not unfamiliar terrain: Hogan had been a staff sergeant in Japan during the Korean War.

Combat! was far from Hogan’s only credit.

He made his debut in the 1956 Anthony Quinn-starrer Man From Del Rio, Hogan worked steadily. He had multiple-epsisode arcs on The Rough Riders, Have Gun – Will Travel, Sea Hunt, Lock Up, Bat Masterson, The Lawman and The Rifleman.

Charles Gordon, who produced such hit films as Field of Dreams, Waterworld, and October Sky, has died of cancer in Los Angeles at Cedars-Sinai surrounded by family. He was 73.

Gordon, along with brother Lawrence Gordon, was raised in Belzoni, Mississippi.

Lawrence Gordon confirmed his brother’s passing in a phone conversation with Deadline. “He was a wonderful man, a great father a great husband and a great human being,” Gordon said. “He was my closest friend, and we collaborated on films that included Field Of Dreams and Die Hard in particular. He also produced without me October Sky, which was just a wonderful movie. Though he was 11 years younger than me, my baby brother, in real life he was more like a big brother, and I never made an important family decision without his input.”

Charles Gordon, the Hollywood producer whose credits include 1980s and ’90s hits like “Die Hard” and “A Field of Dreams,” has died at age 73, according to his publicist.

Born in a Jewish family in Belzoni, Mississippi, Charles “Chuck” Gordon built a career alongside his brother, Lawrence, built on action films. Some of the biggest films of the 1980s and ’90s were credited to the pair like the “Die Hard” series starring Bruce Willis as well as a series of films with Kevin Costner that included the costly 1995 flop “Waterworld.” On the flip side, the Gordons’ partnership with Costner paid off immensely with the 1989 baseball classic “Field of Dreams,” which earned the two brothers an Oscar nomination when the film was nominated for Best Picture.

Other films the Gordons produced together include the Sylvester Stallone prison drama “Lock Up,” the Jim Belushi buddy cop comedy “K-9” and the cult art deco adventure film “The Rocketeer.

“Interrrogation” was the winner of the Amnesty International Italia Award at the 72nd Venice Film Festival and of Best Feature Film in Tamil, Best Supporting Actor for Samuthirakani and Best Editing for the late Kishore Te, among a number of other awards. Aka “Visaaranai” was also India’s official entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards and one of the most celebrated Indian productions of the year.

The script is based on Chandra Kumar’s fact-based novel “Lock Up” and is actually split in two distinct parts, to the point that if it was not for the same main characters, we could easily discuss about two different movies. In the first one Pandi, Murugan, Afzal, and Kumar are Tamil laborers who are working in Guntur, and living in a nearby park, with no roof under their heads, while working odd jobs to make ends meet.

Robert Conrad, best known for his roles in the television series Hawaiian Eye, The Wild Wild West and Baa Baa Black Sheep, died of heart failure in Malibu, Calif., on Feb. 8, according to Variety. He was 84.

“He lived a wonderfully long life and while the family is saddened by his passing, he will live forever in their hearts,” family spokesperson Jeff Ballard said in a statement. The family will hold a small private service on March 1, which would have been Conrad's 85th birthday.

Conrad Robert Falk was born on March 1, 1935, in Chicago, Al Capone's old stomping grounds. According to a 2008 interview with Tony Medley, One on One with Robert Conrad, Conrad said his "best friend. Best." was Michael Spilotro, the character Joe Pesci played in Martin Scorsese's gangster film Casino.
