My review was written in 1989 after watching the movie on Republic Pictures video cassette.
A standard revenge/survival tale, "Brothers in Arms" is chiefly of interest to video fans based on scenic views of wilderness lensed in the Big Bear region of California.
Charles Grant is the intentionally dislikable "hero" Dallas, who drags along his unknowing younger brother (Todd Allen) on a quest for vengeance up in the mountains. A family of religious nuts (led by the late director Jack Starrett) killed his pal Cody and literally crucified him.
Pic features plenty of violence but fails to create any interesting opposition between Dallas and either the religious creeps or city slicker types who illegally kill does in what passes for weekend hunting. Sole femme in cast, DeDee Pfeiffer, is saddled with an underwritten, contradictory role as the damsel rescued by the brothers.
Tech credits are okay.
