Three Wishes

A weird little supernatural comedy from Hong Kong Anthony Chan and Max Mok play brothers who work at a tour company before becoming involved with an evil spirit played by Wu Ma. Ma was once a benevolent lord, but since death he's been tasked with collecting souls and Chan's at the top of the list. Much of the humour comes from the thwarted wishes that Ma offers the protagonists and how they end up going wrong in various goofy ways. The script is unremarkable but the supporting cast includes the talented liked of Anita Mui, Deannie Ip and Sandra Ng. The story plods a little in the middle but picks up for a rousing FX-fuelled climax.
