The Knight and Day cast featured some recognizable faces as NCIS featured a new episode on Monday night.
The episode began with a defense billionaire named Freddie Martin (Travis Schuldt) having an affair with a woman named Sheila (Alisa Allapach).
Intruders descend upon the apartment, leading to Freddie shooting one of the assailants. The NCIS team is interviewing the couple as his wife, Melinda Martin (Brianna Brown), arrives.
They discover that it was a kidnapping attempt rather than a robbery and that Melinda was the target. Later, we learn that Melinda’s real name is April Day, and she has been hiding from the Kansas City mob.
April was dating the son (Jason Marino) of the mob boss (Carla Marino), and they were fleeing because she was pregnant and he wanted nothing to do with the family business.

Jason Sarlanis knows that for some people, the Investigation Discovery network has stood for one thing: murder mysteries, frequently gruesome in nature and usually told in self-contained hourlong episodes. But with the success of docuseries “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,” that perception is quickly changing.
“It has been a fundamental shift for us,” says Sarlanis, who is president of TNT, TBS, TruTV and Hln in addition to ID. “It has brought a spotlight back to all the other things that are outside of the lane of what people expect an ID show to be.”
Those include recent limited series like “The Curious Case of Natalia Grace” and “Jared From Subway: Catching a Monster,” as well as partnerships with producers Octavia Spencer (whose output for the network includes docuseries “Lost Women of Highway 20” and “Feds”) and Michael Bay.

‘The Rookie: Feds’ Creator Alexi Hawley On Drama’s Demise: It Wasn’t Just Due To The Strike, He Says
Creator Alexi Hawley expressed regret on Saturday about the cancellation of The Rookie: Feds, an ABC procedural that he said was a victim of economics and “consolidation in the industry.”
While appearing on the dais for The Rookie at the Television Critics Tour, Hawley, who created Feds with Terence Paul Winter, said some people tried to blame the show’s demise on the strike but “it’s a bigger conversation than that.” The ratings for The Rookie: Feds were modest but were trending in a positive direction before the series starring Niecy Nash-Betts was canceled after one season in November.
“A lot had to do with the forces that led to strike … the consolidation of the industry, the economic impact of the streaming wars have had on different companies,” Hawley said. “I do feel it was not a creative decision. It was a business decision. I can’t argue with that.

The Rookie: Feds and The Good Doctor spinoff, The Good Lawyer, will not move forward at ABC as the network canceled both projects. Following its first season run The Rookie: Feds will not be back, and The Good Lawyer will not make it to air after initially being teased in a trailer earlier this year. As fans of The Rookie: Feds know, the series starring Niecy Nash-Betts is a spinoff of Alexi Hawley‘s The Rookie which is led by Nathan Fillion. Premiering in 2022, Feds was first teased on the flagship series when Nash-Betts’ Simone Clarke was introduced in a two-part event during the fourth season of The Rookie. (Credit: ABC/Raymond Liu) Similar to Fillion’s Officer John Nolan, Simone Clarke was the oldest rookie in the FBI Academy when she was introduced to audiences. Co-created by Hawley and Terence Paul Winter, they also executive produced Feds alongside Nash-Betts,...

With the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes over, ABC is looking ahead to 2024, and sadly, it's bad news for fans of The Rookie Feds and The Good Lawyer.
The network confirmed late Thursday that The Rookie: Feds had been canceled after a single season, while The Good Doctor spinoff would not be getting a formal series order.
The news for both projects is a bit of a surprise, but given the network's now-stacked midseason slate, these kinds of decisions are expected in the coming weeks.
The Rookie: Feds launched last fall on ABC to a tepid response and middling ratings.
Niecy Nash headlined the spinoff, which was paired with The Rookie at midseason, leading to some of both shows best numbers.
The series also benefited from a robust digital footprint, signaling that while there was interest in the show, many of the viewers weren't interested in watching live.

Two spinoff series at ABC have met their fate on the network.
The Rookie: Feds and The Good Lawyer were both first introduced on their respective flagship shows, The Rookie and The Good Doctor.
While Feds aired one season so far, The Good Lawyer only had a backdoor pilot and was not yet picked up to series, and now we know whether or not ABC will continue with the spinoffs.
Get the scoop inside…
Per Variety, ABC has decided not to renew the Niecy Nash-starring The Rookie: Feds, and they have also decided not to pickup The Good Lawyer, which was to star Kennedy McMann and Felicity Huffman.
The news comes less than a day after the SAG-AFTRA strike came to an end following a historic 118 days on the picket lines.

ABC has firmed up its post-strike needs.
The Disney-owned broadcast network has canceled The Rookie: Feds and opted to pass on The Good Doctor spinoff, The Good Lawyer.
Both shows had been on hold since May as ABC, like other networks, took a wait-and-see approach to its needs once both the actors and writers strikes concluded.
With actors poised to join writers back at work in the coming days, ABC now has a firm picture of its schedule for what remains of the 2023-24 broadcast season. The Writers Guild and SAG-AFTRA strikes wiped out the September start and with production expected to resume in the coming weeks, ABC ultimately had no need for a second season of Feds, starring Niecy Nash-Betts. The series, like the already renewed flagship, is a co-production between Disney’s ABC Signature and outside studio Entertainment One.

As TV academy voters fill out their 2023 Emmy Awards nominations ballots, they will have to consider 163 shows for Best Drama Series. This is only down by eight compared to last year. After six years of not having to limit their choices in any categories, members can now not let their selections exceed the number of eventual nominations for a given award, which will be eight in this case.

Hours after NBC made decisions on the bulk of its bubble comedy fare, ABC has passed on nearly all of its remaining pilots.
The Disney-backed broadcaster has passed on dramas The Hurt Unit and Judgment as well as comedies Keeping It Together (formerly Drop-Off) and Public Defenders, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. Of the four drama and two comedy pilots that ABC developed this season, only the Good Doctor spinoff, The Good Lawyer, remains in contention. (Kaitlin Olson drama High Potential was previously ordered to series.)
Also remaining on the bubble are comedy Home Economics (awaiting word on a fourth season) and The Rookie spinoff, Feds (awaiting word on season two). Sources say producers ABC Signature is expected to shop medical drama The Hurt Unit, which counts Ben McKenzie and Michelle Ortiz among its cast.
Reps for ABC declined comment.

It's rare for ABC to keep shows on the bubble into the summer, but fans of The Rookie: Feds are pondering the future of the Niecy Nash drama series.
In a new interview with TV Line, Nash revealed that she's still in the dark about whether the beloved series will return for a second.
"I haven't heard anything, I'm the same as you. I'm a lady in waiting," the Scream Queens alum told the outlet.
"I don't know the fate of that show."
"But I do know that in the same article I read that said that it was on the bubble, it also said that I was one of the most sought-after actresses at this time," the 53-year-old added.
"So we'll see. But I love my job at Rookie: Feds."
"I love the people that I work with, so being able to do another season of it would be like heaven to me.

That's one way to do a season (series?) finale.
Simone hit 49 on The Rookie: Feds Season 1 Episode 22, but FBI business doesn't care about such milestones as the team trying to solve the mystery of a buried FBI agent.
Everyone tried to get out of attending Simone's party while Brendon went all out on the gift-giving, causing Antoinette to be concerned.
For a season finale, it disappointed in more ways than one.
The episode's promo promised an insane hour filled with thrilling scenes after an FBI agent would come out of his grave, and elsewhere Simone and Carter would find themselves next to a nuclear bomb.
That's the problem with false advertising.
I understand baiting people to tune in, but it's not fun with the crossovers and these baits that may just as well be poisoned.
Most of the storylines felt truncated. There would be a build-up and then a sudden...

Well, this one's a shocker.
Dancing With the Stars is staging a comeback to ABC.
The hit reality series was famously banished to Disney+ with a two-season order in 2022.
Now, the competition for the Mirrorball trophy will continue on ABC.
Vulture first reported the news, but ABC and Disney have yet to comment.
There's a good chance the decision won't be officially announced until the network reveals its fall schedule later this month.
Still, it's quite the turn of events considering the decision was made to shift the show to streaming in what can only be described as a sign of the times.
When Dancing With the Stars left ABC, it was still a strong performer, and the series' return to the network raises many questions about the state of the network's bubble dramas.
ABC picked up 9-1-1 after Fox canceled it this week, so both shows join the previously renewed Abbott Elementary,...

Are you ready to say goodbye to your favorite ABC shows?
We know the feeling.
As the days draw longer, it means that summer TV is on the way, and unlike the golden years of broadcast TV, there won't be much on the air in a few months.
The broadcast networks tend to bring their scripted offerings to a halt for a few months in favor of cheaper reality TV.
While many of ABC's shows are ending for the season, two have already been confirmed to be ending for good.
Just weeks after the network confirmed The Goldbergs would end its 10-season run, we have a finale date.
The show will go out on Wednesday, May 3, at 8:30–9 p.m. Et.
It's a shame we're not getting a retrospective special to commemorate such a popular series, but here we are.
That same night, A Million Little Things wraps its five-season run.

It will introduce viewers to Kennedy McMann and Felicity Huffman.
The backdoor pilot finds Dr. Shaun Murphy seeking legal representation to help with his case.

ABC’s drama Will Trent put up decent on-air numbers for its series premiere and scored solid gains over seven days of delayed viewing. The show’s audience has mushroomed, however, with additional time and multiplatform viewing.
Including three repeats and their attendant delayed viewing, the premiere of Will Trent has pulled in 18.1 million viewers and a 2.64 rating among adults 18-49 across all platforms over its first five weeks. That’s more than five times bigger than the on-air total for its first airing (3.61 million) and a more than sixfold increase in the 18-49 rating (from 0.38 initially).
Leaving out the rebroadcasts, the pilot episode has 11.2 million multiplatform viewers and a 1.94 rating in the key ad demographic over 35 days. Its seven-day audience, as measured by Nielsen (and not including streaming), was 6.57 million viewers and a 0.6 rating in adults 18-49. Netflix is re-enlisting The Recruit.
The streaming service has handed out a second-season renewal to the spy drama starring Noah Centineo.
From creator/showrunner/exec producer Alexi Hawley, The Recruit spent five weeks on Netflix’s global top 10 list, reaching the charts in 88 countries following its Dec. 16 debut.
“I’m thrilled to dive back into the fun, funny, action-packed world of The Recruit. Seeing how invested our audience became in the show’s adventurous take on the spy world and Noah’s turn as Owen has been incredibly rewarding, and I can’t wait to turn it all up to ‘11’ in season two,” Hawley said.
The series hails from Entertainment One and counts Hypnotic’s Doug Liman, Gene Klein and David Bartis; P3 Media’s Adam Ciralsky and Charlie Ebersol as executive producers. Hawley, who serves as showrunner/creator on ABC’s The Rookie and its Feds spinoff, also exec produces.

Oscar winner Octavia Spencer is set to executive produce Feds (working title), a six-part docuseries about the FBI, for ID and discovery+. The project is the second to be announced as part of Spencer’s multi-part deal with ID and discovery+, with her Orit Entertainment and October Films.
Feds (wt) will give viewers an inside look at America’s leading crime-fighting agency, the FBI, with exclusive access to active-duty FBI agents and details of high-profile and unusual cases as told by agents, informants, undercover operatives and victims. Featured investigations will range from infiltrating Ms-13 in Boston to taking down a multimillion-dollar drug empire in Florida. The series also uncovers looming tragedies that the FBI was able to thwart.
“A big part of my excitement about our partnership with ID was the opportunity to bring incredible stories to true crime fans from an entirely new perspective,” said Spencer. Feds (wt) is genuinely unique.

Powerhouse Indicator moves forward to their fourth fancy box of noirs from the studio of Harry Cohn, six pictures stretching from the postwar boom to the end of the original classic noir era. This time around we have some notable directors, and a nice selection of stars — Dennis O’Keefe, George Murphy, Fred MacMurray, Kim Novak, Jean Simmons, Rory Calhoun and Richard Conte. Kim Novak makes her starring debut as a femme fatale; noir icon Richard Conte shines in a movie that marks a turn into a new kind of existential, paranoid thriller. And speaking of paranoid, we again get to lighten up with another selection of theme-appropriate Three Stooges shorts.

G. Gordon Liddy, the colorful chief operative in the Watergate scandal who went to prison for his crimes and later cut a wide swatch across pop culture as a talk show host and actor, has died. He was 90.
His son, Thomas P. Liddy, confirmed his death to the Washington Post, but did not provide a cause.
Liddy held many roles during his lifetime, including as a lawyer, FBI agent, talk show host and actor. However, he is best known as the chief operative in the Nixon administration’s White House Plumbers unit, which organized and carried out a burglary of the DNC headquarters in the Watergate building. The scandal rocked American politics and led to Nixon’s resignation from the presidency in 1974. Liddy was ultimately convicted of conspiracy, burglary, illegal wiretapping and refused to testify during the Senate committee hearing on the scandal. As a result, Liddy served over four years in prison.

Just a few weeks ahead of “The Boys” Season 2 finale, Amazon Prime Video revealed it had fast-tracked development on a spinoff series set at a superhero college run by Vought International. This untitled potential show will be based in part on the G-Men — a blatant parody of Marvel’s “X-Men” characters — from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s “The Boys” comic book series, according to Eric Kripke.
“I would say it’s loosely inspired by an element of the comics, which is the G-Men. Part of the G-Men is there’s sort of an educational, college experience,” “The Boys” showrunner told TheWrap. “And we just used that as a jumping-off point, kind of similar to ‘The Boys,’ where we sort of take an initial notion and then we are going to run with it in our own weird direction.”

"Do as I say, or we're both dead." Momentum Pictures has debuted a trailer for a new action comedy titled Welcome to Acapulco, made by Cuban filmmaker Guillermo Iván. The tropical crime plot involves a kid who ends up in landing Acapulco, Mexico instead of New Mexico. As soon as he lands, he finds himself on the run from high-powered criminals, deadly hitmen and the Feds, all looking for a mysterious package that he has allegedly smuggled through customs yet knows nothing about. Mike Kingsbaker stars as Matt Booth, and the cast includes Michael Madsen, William Baldwin, Bradley Gregg, Ana Serradilla, Ana Layevska, Zach Rose, Guillermo Garcia, Maria Elena Heredia, and Loris Curci. This looks ridiculous (and we've seen before anyway) but entertaining. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Guillermo Iván's Welcome to Acapulco, from YouTube: Video game designer Matt Booth has one shot to save his career...

FBI executive producer and TV Godfather of the procedural said Sunday morning he was excited to be at TCA with a CBS show in “long, long time.” And by that, he was referring to the short-lived 1997 series Feds. But with FBI, Wolf brings a new look at the bureau that has been under attack by Donald Trump for obvious reasons. Even so, Wolf is looking to not politicize the new series which will debut on Sept. 20.
Wolf, who was joined on the stage by series stars Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki, Ebonee Noel, and Jeremy Sisto, said that he has avoided politically-driven shows. “If you do that, 50% of the audience is pissed off from the first frame,” he said.
With FBI, Wolf said he fulfilled a dream, having been in close relationship to the bureau from a very young age. His uncle was in the FBI and he idolized him and the agents.

Throughout much of his career, James Spader has excelled at playing a type; and that type is specifically this: rich and arrogant, with a sense of condescension and an air of pretense. It’s not his fault; his wispy (or is that WASPy?) good looks and mellifluous voice initially offer little sympathy to the working class. But when he’s given an opportunity to play against this type, the results are exhilarating. Such is the case with Jack’s Back (1988), a clever thriller elevated by a terrific dual role performance from Spader. Come for Jack the Ripper; stay for James the Spaders.
Released by Palisades Entertainment Group in May, Jack’s Back only made back half of its million dollar budget at the box office and the critics were for the most part, unkind (with the exception of Siskel & Ebert, who liked it – go figure). But writer/director Rowdy Herrington...

I’m back! It’s been a long time and I apologise for that, moving house turned out to be a far far longer process than I anticipated or had been led to believe. Three weeks turned into six, six weeks turned into three months and now here we are.
Aside from the length of time it takes, moving house was a real eye opener in other areas too. Specifically in terms of how I inform you week on week of all of this wonderful content available to stream and then how you have to put up with lacklustre delivery from various ISPs. I was living in someone else’s house on a connection that was not my own, not wanting to name names but there is one of the big three ISP’s in the UK which boasts about having one of, if not the, fastest broadband delivery on...

I was going to write about the new Paul Feig film The Heat and the unfair weight put on female driven comedies to prove that yes, women are funny. In fact, when I heard of The Heat, the first thing that I thought was “Oh yeah, like Feds.” FEDs (Daniel Goldberg, 1988) is the only other time I can think of that the buddy-cop genre was populated by women. To be honest, I recall FEDs being pretty funny. It features Rebecca De Mornay and SNL alumus Mary Gross as FBI trainees who get dealt a tough case while completing their training and tests. Regardless, it was completely unfair for me to immediately compare it to the only other known female buddy cop movie out there. We’ve seen multiple iterations within the genre including interracial (Lethal Weapon), inter-jurisdictional (Bon Cop Bad Cop), international (Rush Hour), and even interspecies (Turner and Hooch) pairings.

Most of us have a TV or movie moment that brings tears (of emotion, not laughter) to the eyes. A selection of Den Of Geek writers confess to theirs right here...
Before we get going, we need to bring your attention to the following...
A note about spoilers: inevitably, each of the entries here reveals a plot point about the show or film concerned that you may not want to know. That's why, for this list, those headers are bright red. That way, it should make it a bit easier to know where to skip to if there's a particular entry you want to avoid
That sorted, here are the moments that have been moving the writers of Den Of Geek to tears over the years - and please add your own in the comments at the bottom!
