There was a time in history when Channel 4 was a really good channel that would show series such as 'Xerxes' it had subtitles, it only ran for six episodes but it was a class programme and with that, let's get into it.
Xerxes Andersson is a rasta who loves Bob Marley, believing his dad was living in Jamaica after leaving the relationship with his mum, Xerxes is about to leave high school and wants to learn how to drive and lose his virginity at the same time.
He doesn't have a job, has no money, doesn't have a car and lives at home with his disapproving stepfather, mum and younger sister - Xerxes doesn't have much in the way of things going for him to achieve his immediate ambitions but he has his sights set on some girls who he likes the look of. Will he get what he wants in the end? Well, we probably know how it will end but it is entertaining.
I watched this at the time in Swedish with English subtitles, excellent! At a time when Channel 4 was excellent which was a long time ago.
