Jan Shepard, who guest-starred on Rawhide, The Virginian, Gunsmoke and two dozen other TV Westerns and played opposite Elvis Presley in movies eight years apart, has died. She was 96.
Shepard died Jan. 17 at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank of pneumonia brought on by respiratory failure, her son, Hollywood prop master, Brandon Boyle, told The Hollywood Reporter. “She was a good one and will be dearly missed,” he said.
Shepard portrayed Mimi, the sister of Presley’s Danny Fisher, in the Michael Curtiz-directed King Creole (1958) and the wife of Danny Kohana (James Shigeta), who partners with Presley’s Rick Richards in a helicopter business, in Paradise, Hawaiian Style (1966).
“The first time, I found him to be just the cutest kid around, a big teddy bear, a lot of fun,” she said in an interview for Boyd Magers and Michael G. Fitzgerald’s 1999 book, Westerns Women. But on their next movie,...

Fans of Days of Our Lives were saddened by the recent death of Wayne Northrop, who played the heroic Roman Brady from 1981 to 1994. It’s very hard to replace a beloved character, but in 1998, Josh Taylor took over the part and made it his own. In his own right, Taylor became as much a fan favorite as Northrop and continues to bring his best performance in each episode. The actor recently revealed that he had to make some changes before he became the performer we all know and love.

Liz Feldman’s No Good Deed has suspense, emotion and humor all in one. The murder mystery series starring Lisa Kudrow, Ray Romano, Abbi Jacobson, Denis Leary, Poppy Liu. O-t Fagbenle, Teyonah Parris, Luke Wilson and Linda Cardellini arrived on Netflix Dec. 12.
Throughout the series, several songs emphasize moments or themes in the show, like that of home, which is punctuated by Ozzy Osbourne and Motley Crue songs. A Eurythmics number sets the tone at a big scene in the finale, and a Bon Jovi song also pulls at the sinister side of the story.
Several other original songs performed by different characters put some spin on the series, which follows the Morgans, Lydia (Kudrow) and Paul (Romano) as they attempt to sell their house to reasonable buyers so that they can move on from a tragic event that happened there a few years ago. Thus, three couples — Leslie (Jacobson...

Warning! Spoilers for Netflix's No Good Deed ahead!
Netflix's No Good Deed features a soundtrack that perfectly sets the tone for this dark comedy. The series follows a couple attempting to sell their home without dredging up too many dark secrets and comes from Dead to Me's Liz Feldman, with music by Siddhartha Khosla. Along with an original score, No Good Deed features a variety of popular rock, classical, and pop songs, many of which perfectly fit the theme of house and home. Then, to sweeten the pot even further, the Netflix series features a couple of original songs from artist Rachael Cantu.
It's quickly clear in Netflix's No Good Deed that the central couple, Paul and Lydia Morgan (Ray Romano and Lisa Kudrow), are hiding something. Of course, they aren't the only ones since each member of the three couples vying for their Los Angeles home keeps some secrets as well.

Tom Cruise and Jon Bon Jovi made uncredited, brief cameo appearances in the Young Guns franchise. Young Guns, followed by its sequel, played a crucial role in the revival of the Western genre in the 1990s. A third Young Guns film has been written and prepped, but its future is uncertain; if it happens, it should continue the tradition of hidden cameos.
On the surface, Tom Cruise and Jon Bon Jovi may not appear to have much in common, but they both share a unique Western trait in common. Without a doubt, the 1980s was the worst time for Westerns, thanks to the box-office failure of Heaven's Gate. This 1980 epic cost a staggering (for the time) $44 million to produce, and grossed less than a tenth of that back at the box office. In the aftermath, studios avoided Westerns like the plague, with Clint Eastwood's genre comeback Pale Rider being a rare exception.

In this day and age, singers and performers can make a quick buck on the side by selling their music catalog. Justin Bieber’s done it, Katy Perry’s done it, but Jon Bon Jovi won’t do it. And the answer all comes back to money.
Jon Bon Jovi – Says Their Music Catalog Has “Grown Exponentially” Through The Years
You won’t find Jon Bon Jovi in the lineup of the people who want to sell their music catalogs. Nope, keep the huge one-off payday, this star’s going to keep the rights to his music.
Bon Jovi has a mentor in former songwriting partner Richie Sambora, who sold his catalog in 2020 after exiting the band in 2013. This included his copyright to hits that he co-wrote with the frontman.
While Bon Jovi and Sambora may be chill, the former has no intentions to follow in the latter’s footsteps.

The Bon Jovi documentary on Hulu offers a refreshing break from Taylor Swift's Eras Tour hype. Bon Jovi's journey from the 80s to now is explored in Thank You, Goodnight, a four-episode docuseries. Despite their different stories, both the Eras Tour and Bon Jovi's anniversary concert showcase huge behind-the-scenes work.
For over a year, Taylor Swift's Eras Tour has taken over pop culture, and with its release as a movie in October 2023, it is very hard to avoid, but luckily Hulu has released its own concert documentary, Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, which is a perfect replacement for those interested in music but sick of hearing about Swift. Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story is a four-episode docuseries currently streaming on Hulu, which follows iconic rock star Jon Bon Jovi as he reminisces about his band, Bon Jovi, and rehearses for a 40th anniversary concert.

It’s hard to picture so many rock bands without the lead vocalist and guitarist pairings: Mick and Keith, Steven and Joe, Jon and Richie…But not all of these partnerships last. It has now been over a decade since Richie Sambora left Bon Jovi. And while he doesn’t regret the decision to leave the arena rockers after 30 years of hits and hairspray, he’s not entirely proud of how he did it.
Ahead of the second leg of their 2013 Because We Can Tour, Richie Sambora left Bon Jovi, undoubtedly the biggest change in membership for the band since forming in the early ‘80s. But with so much bad medicine in his mouth, he had no choice. There wasn't a more capable director of massive, widescreen Westerns working in Hollywood during the 1950s and '60s than John Sturges. Whether classical ("Gunfight at the O.K. Corral") or somewhat unconventional ("Bad Day at Black Rock"), Sturges could frame a mountainous expanse or stage a gunfight with the best of them. He thrived when working with big casts and specialized in discovering stirring nuances in characters that would've been walking cliches in more typical genre flicks.
Sturges was also efficient, which came in handy when managing expensive studio productions populated with big egos. Los Angeles, April 28 (Ians) ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ could very well be one of the most loved songs but its creator, Jon Bon Jovi wasn’t impressed with the song initially.
The 62-year-old rock icon recently opened up about his four-decades-long career and recalled that he didn’t initially connect with the band’s chart-topping 1986 hit, reports ‘People’ magazine.
He told ‘People’, “It wasn’t that I didn’t want to record it, but I wasn’t all that impressed on the day that we wrote it.”
Upon writing the song, “it was the simple chord progression, the melodies and the lyrics” at first. “But the bass line came to life in the demo studio, when we took it back to the band and worked it up,” reflected the Grammy winner. “That’s how it became what it is”.

Millie Bobby Brown and her fiancé, Jake Biongiovi, had a date night at the Damsel world premiere at The Plaza in New York City.
The couple was seen with Biongiovi’s proud parents, singer Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley.
Brown was wearing a gray patterned gown while Biongiovi sported a classic suit and tie look. The iconic pop star went with a leather jacket. Hurley said yes to a black turtleneck and brown skirt.
The “Wanted Dead or Alive” singer recently defended his son’s engagement with the Stranger Things star from critics who say they are too young.
Bon Jovi discussed his thoughts on the engagement on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show.
“You know, if you find the right partner and you grow together, I think that would be my advice really, is growing together is wise,” he said.

You only had to look at Jason Isbell’s silhouette to realize what song he was about to perform at the MusiCares tribute to Jon Bon Jovi on Friday night in Los Angeles. Wearing a large-brimmed hat and a long duster coat and holding — the giveaway — a double-neck guitar, it was clear “Wanted Dead or Alive” was in the cards.
Isbell acknowledged as much on Instagram on Saturday: “I think it’s pretty obvious which Bon Jovi song I did just by looking at this picture,” he wrote.

Hulu is about to (willingly) take some bad medicine.
The streamer has acquired a four-part series about Bon Jovi. Titled Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, the project comes from Gotham Chopra’s Religion of Sports banner and will chronicle the mega-selling arena rock band’s 40-year run of riding steel horses and giving love a bad name.
Thank You, Goodnight is also the first retrospective on Bon Jovi’s history that will feature participation from all present and past members of the band. It’s set to premiere April 26 on Hulu in the United States and later in the year on Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ in the rest of the world.
The announcement comes on the 40th anniversary of the release of Bon Jovi’s self-titled first album, which peaked at No. 43 on the Billboard 200 chart. Two years later, the band’s Slippery When Wet exploded,...

As Skidrow frontman Sebastian Bach sat down after a long day of metal rocking to enjoy some MTV, an energetic pretty boy suddenly appeared before the eyes of Bach. And all he could think was, “What the f*ck is a Bon Jovi and What the f*ck is with all those teeth?”, as smiling was not exactly considered cool amongst the metal-heads of the time. And we can’t forget Twister Sister frontman Dee Snider, who believes that he can pin point the exact moment that metal started to become less metal….when Bon Jovi smiled, creating what many like to call “happy metal”. While others say that Bon Jovi’s music brought a fresh new light to the genre causing millions of other smiles to spread throughout the world. Not being completely miserable and angry all the time was a bold controversial move in the world of rock...

Season 24 of “The Voice” ended Tuesday, December 20 with host Carson Daly announcing Huntley as the winner. The 33-year old gave coach Niall Horan his second victory, keeping him undefeated and making the “Slow Hands” singer just the third coach to win two seasons back-to-back (Blake Shelton won Seasons 2-5 and Kelly Clarkson‘s team took the top spot in Seasons 14 and 15). Watch our exclusive video interview with Huntley above.
“I know I’m 33 and Ruby is 16, but that girl can sing and she’s a super mega-talent,” Huntley says. “I did not once think that I was going to win this thing. As soon as my name got called I was definitely surprised. The father in me remembered Ruby was up there with me. I know what it’s like being that 16-year old kid with all that talent and it not going the way I want it to. I...

Rock music had its turn in the spotlight on this season of NBC’s The Voice, thanks in large part to contestant Huntley. The Virginia blues-rocker, who goes by one name, was crowned the winner of Season 24 on Tuesday night (December 19th) after performing a number of rock songs throughout the competition, including Creed’s “Higher” in the finale.
The 33-year-old father of two sang “Higher” on Monday during night one of the two-part finale, lending his powerful and soulful rasp to the monster Creed hit. The 1999 song is having a moment in 2023, having also been used as a rallying cry for World Series champions the Texas Rangers.
On Tuesday night, Huntley was named The Voice champion, winning the national vote over runner-up Ruby Leigh, a 16-year-old country singer.

If “The Voice” had a Mount Rushmore of coaches, three of the faces carved into its granite would no doubt be Niall Horan, Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson. Why? Because as of the Season 24 finale on December 19, they are the only coaches to have won two seasons in a row. That’s quite an impressive feat, especially considering the immense amount of talent that has graced the NBC reality TV show since its debut in 2011. See the updated “The Voice” winners list.
Niall joined the esteemed list on Tuesday night when Huntley, his 33-year-old artist from Fredericksburg, Virginia, won Season 24 over runner-up Ruby Leigh of Team Reba McEntire. That gave Niall back-to-back victories because he also prevailed in Season 23 with Illinois pop singer Gina Miles, who bested runner-up Grace West of Team Blake. Since Niall isn’t returning in the spring for Season 25, that means he will remain undefeated for the time being.

Supernatural's extensive use of music, spanning across multiple genres, adds depth and atmosphere to the show's various storylines and emotional moments. Iconic songs such as "Beautiful Loser" by Bob Seger and "Wanted Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi perfectly complement specific scenes, enhancing their impact and adding a layer of meaning to the characters' experiences. The show's musical choices also serve to introduce and establish important characters, like the haunting song "O, Death" by Jen Titus which accompanies the introduction of the terrifying character Death, creating an atmosphere of tension and fear.
Supernatural had a 15-season run full of monsters, death, and family, but it also had a lot of good music to accompany the long-going show. Throughout the years, the series pulled from several genres from classic rock to the singer-songwriter genre. However, without fail, each song seamlessly fits into the situation within its use of following two brothers...

Jeff Tweedy never meant to be a memoirist. “I was kind of recruited to write a book based on some agent’s idea that I might be able to write something worth reading,” he says, recalling a conversation five or more years ago. “I said, ‘Sure, I guess.’ It felt accidental.” That somewhat inauspicious beginning led to Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back), the acclaimed memoir that Tweedy published in 2018. A couple of years later, he wrote a second bestseller, How to Write One Song, encouraging readers to tap into their own creativity.

The film world is still reeling from the recent loss of actor Rick Dalton, whose passing was first announced on May 19th, 2023 by The Video Archives Podcast's official Twitter account. Dalton, who passed away at his Honolulu, Hawaii home (shortly after celebrating his 90th birthday in April), is survived by his wife, one-time Italian starlet Francesca Cappucci.
The Video Archives Podcast, created and hosted by filmmakers Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary, aired an episode on May 22nd that is apparently part one of a multi-episode run that revolves around the directors' memories of Dalton and his work.
While other friends and fans of the actor such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt have yet to make any official statements or remembrances, Tarantino has made sure that Dalton's name isn't fading into the ether like so many stars of yesteryear. The “American Idol” Top 10 performed for “The Judge’s Song Contest Night” on Monday, May 1. Immediately following the episode we polled fans and asked who gave the best performance. Wé Ani topped the list for the second night in a row with her passionate rendition of “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston. The song was chosen for her by Luke Bryan, but Katy Perry was the winner of the song contest, defeating Bryan and Lionel Richie. When Oliver Steele, Marybeth Byrd and Tyson Venegas landed in the bottom three, she used her winning powers to save Oliver.
Marybeth and Tyson were eliminated. But did American get it right? And who gave the best performances of the night? Watch Wé’s performance and see our full poll results below.

The 1990 song "Blaze of Glory" from the "Young Guns II" soundtrack is impossible to resist. I feel pretty confident in saying that, when you read the title of that song, it began playing in your head. In fact, you'll be singing it for the rest of the day, and if anyone else is around, they'll join in with the harmony. Maybe you, like a young version of me, watched the video repeatedly, admiring ... the music. I didn't mean the exceedingly good-looking Jon Bon Jovi himself. Okay, that's a lie, but the song really is pretty great. There is a reason it's performed at every karaoke bar, including the fictional one in the afterlife in "The Good Place."
What you might not have realized about the song you cannot stop singing now that I've mentioned it, is that it was written over dinner with two stars of the 1990 sequel to 1988's "Young Guns.

He was born in Breukelen, the Netherlands, to actor parents.
