The Aftermath (1982)

Trivia

The Aftermath

Edit
Originally shot in 1978, but Steve Barkett wasn't happy with this version and decided to re-shoot most of the footage with different actors.
The beach scene was shot on the same location as Planet of the Apes (1968). At around 13 minutes, Steve Barkett can be seen climbing over the rock where the Statue of Liberty is located in the earlier film.
Steve Barkett met with James Horner to do the score but hired John W. Morgan when young Horner couldn't provide any samples of his work. According to Barkett, Nicholas Meyer was so impressed with the score for The Aftermath that he wanted to hire Morgan for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982), but in this case the studio chose Horner.
Forrest J. Ackerman wears both Boris Karloff's scarab ring from The Mummy (1932) and Bela Lugosi's ring from Dracula (1931).
Steve Barkett's brother Michael, who is a surgeon in real life, plays several of Cutter's men during the final showdown and Steve himself plays a shooter on the roof that gets shot by his own character.
