A fine film with piper Davy Spillane and Judy Donovan in the leading parts. Nice scenes of Traveller environments, horses, Ford Transit van and bell-bottomed trousers. Little in the way of dialogue, but well filmed with plenty of traditional music. Davy Spillane plays a tune on the low whistle, and an air on the uilleann pipes sitting in a Pavee wagon. Some fine singing from Annie (Agnes?) Donovan as well here and there in the film. A raw realistic interesting film, you can almost feel the damp, with no Hollywood sentimentality. The copy I saw had French subtitles? Two newly married Travellers are sent to Northern Ireland to fetch a load of TV's stereos and radios and the film follows their relationship during the journey back to the Republic.
