It implies that the Hittites fears were actually justified, that the farm actually does contain a demonic entity which grabs the heroine and pulls her through the floor at the finale of the film. Whether it kills her, keeps her prisoner or possesses her as its' new agent (or whether she can defeat it?) is left up to the viewer to decide.
