The phenomenon known as John Wadd Holmes displays his largess and charm well in this film where he is ha, ha.. (a hairstylist?} who seduces his clients Samantha Fox and Serena. He was so loved by his porn starlet partners that they announced their retirement as soon as he said he was quitting adult movies to join a church and cope with AIDS. Otherwise the plot seems to be a quick valentine and announcement for the marriage of Eric Edwards to his third wife, Arcadia Lake. Arcadia has a rare lead role as Honey, a beautician who works for Eric's salon. She is so shy she makes anonymous phone calls confessing her love for him. Her pal, a receptionist played by Katie Keen (aka Patty Boyd) offers to increase her confidence and improve her appearance in a demonic lesbian bonding ritual followed by spectatoring while Katie has sex with her boyfriend (Ron Hudd) who delivers lines during their union that are really ridiculous and mechanical. Also a weakness in the film are the cruel scenes where Arcadia is told to watch and learn while Edwards seduces Fox and Serena. You can just see her face swell up with rage, tears and jealousy. To stretch this bizarre premise even more, Arcadia might have been originally planned to be in love with Holmes's character, but fearful of size differences between the herself and him.
In a scene between Edwards and Lake, too much music erases any passion sounds while the two congratulate themselves on their own love together. Exploitation of unhappy off-camera lives of the two leads rarely happens, and the outcome was later tragic. Note: Samantha Fox is on the box cover photo frowning, not our star Arcadia. Why?
