Cinematographer Andrés Berenguer was fired halfway through the shoot and replaced by Juan Gelpí. He never shot any movie again and retired shortly afterwards.
The poem recited by Mikel is "Canticle", written by the 16th century Spanish mystic poet Saint John of the Cross.
