In the film, young Mara Goyet, 10 years old, gives the reply to Sami Frey, 48 years old, who plays her father. Having since become a teacher, in 2024 Goyet told her experience, promoting her book, 'Jeu cruel'. One scene in particular left its mark on the former actress: the one where she had to be "lying topless, in panties on a bed, next to Sami Frey". On the set, which was mostly made up of men, the young girl felt particularly uncomfortable. For the teacher, the atmosphere that reigned on the set was clearly "incestuous".
