Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is almost here and it is safe to say that the hype for the game is at an all-time high. The success of the beta has convinced fans that this game is all set to bring back the good old Call of Duty multiplayer days. At launch, players will be able to play various classic Call of Duty game modes on sixteen unique maps.

The game has also caused excitement among Call of Duty veterans. Back in the day, the best way to assert dominance was to hit Prestige Master. In Black Ops 6, if players would like to unlock the Legacy Prestige icons from older games, they need to make sure they hit this one milestone.

What happened to Striking Distance Studios’ The Callisto Protocol? The spiritual successor to Dead Space launched in an apparent unpolished state, with performance issues on PC and poor execution in several gameplay areas. The result had the game scoring mixed reviews, publisher Krafton immensely scaling back sales projections, and eventually had Striking Distance Studios CEO Glen Schofield leaving the developer. And in a recent interview with PCGamesN, Schofield confirmed those suspicions regarding the release of The Callisto Protocol in a bit of a post mortem, stating that Krafton had pushed the game out too soon.
In the interview, Schofield claimed that initially, Striking Distance was given a lot of leeway when it came to developing The Callisto Protocol. However, Krafton later insisted on a December 2022 release.
“I wanted about three and a half more months [of development time],” said Schofield, who says that he was led to believe that Krafton agreed to the request.

Space Cadet, which stars Emma Roberts as Florida party girl Rex, who finds herself unexpectedly becoming an astronaut candidate, comes from director by Liz W. Garcia, who brings a refreshing spin to the beloved “fish out of water” trope,
infused with a female-centric narrative that reminded me very much of classics such as the 80s Goldie Hawn-led duo of Protocol and Private Benjamin – which itself inspired a similar “fish out of water” military comedy in 2002s Cadet Kelly; along with the likes of Miss Congeniality (2000) and Legally Blonde, released a year later in 2001.
Garcia’s film very much echoes Legally Blonde and Miss Congeniality thematically, both of which featured strong, independent women – played by Reese Witherspoon and Sandra Bullock respectively – who...

There are shades of Legally Blonde and Private Benjamin in Amazon’s lesser, low-rent comedy about a Florida bartender with dreams of being an astronaut
There’s a well-tested, and mostly well-liked, formula being recycled in Amazon’s lightweight Fourth of July comedy Space Cadet. It’s the mildly rousing story of an underestimated blonde excelling in a more serious field, something Goldie Hawn aced in Private Benjamin and Protocol before Melanie Griffith took over with Working Girl and Born Yesterday, followed by Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde. It’s an easy, against-all-odds rise for us to get behind and a career-defining every-scene showcase for an actor who may have also found herself unfairly undervalued by the industry.
There’s something for both actor and character to prove, and when it’s done right, we should be able to taste the same hunger, cheering for an inevitable victory. But in...

Anthea Sylbert, an Oscar-nominated costume designer who worked on some of the signature films of the late 1960s and 1970s, including “Rosemary’s Baby,” “Carnal Knowledge,” “Chinatown,” “Shampoo,” “Julia” and “King Kong,” and a producer later in her career on a number of films starring Goldie Hawn, has died. Her death was confirmed by Robert Romanus, her stepson.
Sylbert, subject of a forthcoming documentary by Sakis Lalas titled “Anthea Sylbert: My Life in 3 Acts,” also served as an executive at United Artists and Warner Bros., at a time when there were few women in the C-suites of Hollywood. In January, Vince McMahon stepped down as executive chairman of Tko Holdings after being accused of s-xually assaulting and s-x trafficking former WWE employee Janel Grant. While the lawsuit’s process has moved slowly, WWE was quick to distance itself from McMahon after the allegations came to light, and Paul Levesque, aka Triple H, ushered WWE in a new direction.
With WrestleMania 40 being the first major step in the company’s new era, which saw McMahon miss his first Wm since its inception, his trainer took to Ig to share his dismay over the matter.

Among the myriad reasons we could call the Criterion Channel the single greatest streaming service is its leveling of cinematic snobbery. Where a new World Cinema Project restoration plays, so too does Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight. I think about this looking at November’s lineup and being happiest about two new additions: a nine-film Robert Bresson retro including L’argent and The Devil, Probably; and a one-film Hype Williams retro including Belly and only Belly, but bringing as a bonus the direct-to-video Belly 2: Millionaire Boyz Club. Until recently such curation seemed impossible.
November will also feature a 20-film noir series boasting the obvious and the not. Maybe the single tightest collection is “Women of the West,” with Johnny Guitar and The Beguiled and Rancho Notorious and The Furies only half of it. Lynch/Oz, Irradiated, and My Two Voices make streaming premieres; Drylongso gets a Criterion Edition; and joining...

Hotline TNT have shared their latest single, “Out of Town.” Take a listen below.
Characterized by noisy, lo-fi production and a clear, melodic vocal line, “Out of Town” displays the high energy and lyrical expression that Hotline TNT have been honing-in on. The single follows previous releases, “Protocol” and “I Thought You’d Change” — the former of which got an honorable mention from Consequence’s Song of the Week roundup — which all arrive ahead of the band’s sophomore album, Cartwheel, due on November 3rd via Third Man Records. Pre-orders are ongoing.
Speaking about “Out of Town,” frontman Will Anderson explained that he was inspired by Minnesota acts like The Replacements. “These days most people wouldn’t have the foolishness to start a song by singing the words ‘baby girl,’” Anderson said in a statement. “But I wanted to channel my Minnesotan roots and try it out, Paul Westerberg style.

The eighth episode of “How I Met Your Father” Season 2 was all about the gang facing their fears, which would lead to a mega reward. A pact was made by all of them to achieve the task of facing their biggest challenge and making sure nobody gave up. This leads to plenty of mishaps, but almost all of which find a way to complete their task. They sadly end up losing the bet, but it helps them master a skill they thought they would never think of mastering. The group is bonding better than they could ever imagine, and it will possibly lead to plenty of good news. Where do they go from here?

I recently reviewed the Black Widow and Hawkeye pack for Atomic Mass Games’ Crisis Protocol, and I remarked at the time that it was the first expansion I had encountered that featured a re-release of a character that existed in the core box. Where Black Widow was concerned, the updated model and character card featured the same alter-ego (Natasha Romanoff) and therefore only one Widow model can take to the field at once. That’s not the case for today’s review, for Spider-Man and Ghost Spider, because this Spider-Man is Miles Morales (compared to the Peter Parker of the core box) thanks to the multiverse storyline. Two Spider-Men (and a Spider-Woman)? Very interesting!
The original Peter Parker Spider-Man from the core box is a pretty tough customer, weighing in at a surprisingly high four threat. Miles Morales Spider-Man costs just three, and both variants have three physical, energy and mystical defence dice.

This year’s Oscars have set a new record for the largest number of entries ever in the Best Original Song category, but the 105 eligible songs do not include Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’ “(If Only You Could) Save Me,” a 1930s-style big band song from “Mank” that was recently nominated for the second annual Society of Composers and Lyricists Awards.
The song is heard briefly coming from a radio in the background of one scene and plays for only about 40 seconds. Academy rules require “a clearly audible, intelligible, substantive rendition of both lyric and melody,” and the song was judged to not fulfill that requirement.
Other songs that didn’t make the list, although they were thought to be in the running, include “Uh Oh” from “Promising Young Woman” and “Boss Bitch” from “Birds of Prey.” Even without those, the list of eligible songs tops 100 for the first time...

With a projected $32 million loss in wages for canceled scoring dates because of Covid-19, the Los Angeles music community is gearing up for the return of film and TV recording — but cautiously, under strict guidelines.
Yet, musicians say, not everyone is prepared to go back to work in groups, given the uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic.
The mid-March lockdown led to “catastrophic job losses,” says American Federation of Musicians Local 47 president John Acosta, and while the remote-recording process – in which musicians record their parts at home for blending into a full score by composers and mixers – has solved some post-production dilemmas, it’s far from ideal.
The re-opening of scoring stages in Vienna, Berlin and London worries American union officials, who are hopeful that modified operation of recording facilities will encourage a return to film and TV scoring in L.A. and limit the number of jobs that go outside the U.

If Brave doesn't hit the target, a reborn Bourne just might. Here we look at this year's big-budget crowd-pleasers
Absorbed at a glance, the list of coming summer blockbusters always seems exciting. That's the point: these are not the year's subtlest or most profound films but they're the loudest, brashest, costliest pulse-quickeners on the annual programme. Trouble is, despite a level of anticipation carefully nurtured by the big studios during winter and spring (posters, billboards, teasers, trailers, tie-ins, tweets, featurettes, adverts, apps – everything but Will Smith himself coming round to scream taglines through the letterbox) the end result is so rarely a good summer's cinema.
There have been magical years. Oh, to go back to '96, with its headlining Independence Day and Mission: Impossible, backed by serviceable romps Twister and The Rock. Or to resummon 1982, when filmgoers must have wandered, happy and bewildered and increasingly hungry, in a never-ending circuit of screens showing E.T.,...

Awards season may have come and gone, but sci-fi fans still have something to look forward to with today's announcement of the Saturn Award nominees.
The awards, presented by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, recognize excellence in these genres, which are often underrepresented at other awards shows.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, this year's big movie contenders are "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2," "Hugo," tied with 10 nominations each.
A number of the movies scoring big have been commercial successes but have not received awards show love, including J.J. Abrams' $260-million grossing monster hit "Super 8," which nabbed eight nominations, and "Captain America: The First Avenger," which earned nearly $400 million worldwide, coming in with six.
One of the most surprising cross-genre hits is Woody Allen's romantic comedy "Midnight in Paris," which took home the award for Best Original Screenplay at Sunday's Oscars, in...

Goldie Hawn has 'never' been proud of her work. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol is a film with major thrills, a lackluster villain and a far greater attempt at laughs than any of its three predecessors. Director Brad Bird (The Incredibles), making his live-action directorial debut, has charged himself with a serious task as he pushes aside his animation chops, picks up large-format, 70mm IMAX cameras and tackles a globe-trotting plot that wows with spectacle but slightly underachieves on intrigue.
Without initial explanation as to what has occurred since Mission: Impossible III came to a close, Ghost Protocol opens with Impossible Mission Force (Imf) Agent Ethan Hunt (Cruise) holed up in a Moscow prison, but he won't be there long. Sloshing through the sewers below is Agent Jane Carter (Paula Patton) and above ground is Mission: Impossible III tech guru Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg), no longer strapped to a desk at headquarters, but now a field agent.

The latest trailer for Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol has finally been released, giving the world just what it needs. A whole lot more footage of shit being blown up. In fact, Migp It has so many explosion that the filmmakers completely forgot to add any punctuation in a title desperately in need of colons.
Aside from a new name that sounds like a bad translation of a Japanese game show, the trailer reveals that this latest mission is pretty much the same as the previous missions. What a shock.
We have the same blend of sidekicks and spies who fly around as things blow up dangerously close to them. We have international locales that are just waiting to get messed up. And of course, we have Tom Cruise climbing on walls, vents, and Oprah’s couch in his never-ending quest to feel taller than everybody else.

Prom
Opens: April 29th 2011
Cast: Aimee Teegarden, Thomas McDonell, Danielle Campbell, Yin Chang
Director: Joe Nussbaum
Summary: Portrays the precarious passage from high school to independence as some relationships unravel and others ignite. For Nova Prescott, it’s a battle of wills as she finds herself drawn to the guy who gets in the way of her perfect prom. Others face all the insecurity and anticipation that surrounds one of high school’s most seminal events.
Analysis: Disney's attempt at creating the next "High School Musical" franchise for itself, this teen romantic comedy is a batch of clique cliches - the beauty queen, the rebel with better hair than anyone else in the film, the handsome yet dumb foreign exchange student, the 'so above it' geek who really wants to belong, and at least one or two 'fugly' girls.

American actor known for his comic roles in the films of Mel Brooks
Kenneth Mars, who has died aged 75 from pancreatic cancer, was cherished by audiences for his unhinged comic performances in two of the writer-director Mel Brooks's finest and funniest movies, The Producers (1968) and Young Frankenstein (1974). Along with performers including Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn and Cloris Leachman, he created some of the most sublimely silly moments in Us film comedy.
For all that, he longed for his acting range to be recognised. Asked in 2001 what he would change about the perception of himself, he replied: "That I am only a comedic actor – I would like to be considered for more dramatic roles." Small wonder, then, that he cited as his favourite among his own work the little-seen 1971 drama Desperate Characters, in which he appeared opposite Shirley MacLaine and gave what the critic Roger Ebert called "a deeply felt,...

Hollywood has lost another wonderfully colorful supporting player: The always-enjoyable Kenneth Mars, veteran of dozens of films (most notably by Mel Brooks and Woody Allen), has passed away at the age of 75 after a battle with cancer. To a big section of my generation (to say nothing of my dad's), Mars was a face first and a "name" second -- but we loved him no less for that.
To a child watching 'Young Frankenstein,' for example, there's a lot of stuff that might fly right over his or her head. But the particularly silly contributions from Kenneth Mars and Marty Feldman stand out like huge neon flowers to an 8-year-old movie freak. His hilariously bizarre performance as Inspector Kemp was always one of my favorites, but once I got a little older and saw Mars' work in 'The Producers,' I knew...

Eight years ago, Jeremy Renner was an obscure actor in his thirties earning arthouse attention for his portrayal of a repressed cannibal in Dahmer. And now, nearly 40, he’s a superhero who just picked up a blockbuster franchise. The Hurt Locker star confirmed to MTV News that he’s set to take over the Mission: Impossible series from Tom Cruise. “It’s a franchise to potentially take over,” he admits. “I can’t predict the future and what they want, but that’s certainly the idea.” The pair are currently at work on the fourth, M:i film, currently titled Ghost Protocol. That sounds like a movie about Goldie Hawn teaming up with a dead Bill Cosby to us, but we may have seen too many ’80s comedies.

Hollywoodnews.com: Kate Hudson, Oscar nominated supporting actress for “Almost Famous,” and enemy of Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston was never repulsed by her mom Goldie Hawn’s sex scenes with stepdad Kurt Russell.
Showbiz Spy heard Hudson explaining, “We always had a good perspective about sex. When you grow up with parents in showbiz who are loud and funny and the life of the party, you get pretty relaxed about that stuff.”
However Hudson thinks that her son Ryder, 5, with ex-hubby Chris Robinsin, might find her sex scenes “weird” in her forthcoming film “The Killer Inside Me.” (We should all hope he finds no joy in seeing his mom have sex. Those scenes are strictly reserved for single men who aren’t related to Hudson).

If you left It's Complicated thinking you'd like to own the house Meryl Streep's character lives in, you're not alone. It's a common reaction to any film directed and/or written by Nancy Meyers. Personally, I'm still hoping to end up in a Vermont home similar to Diane Keaton's in 1987's Baby Boom (and with a vet) and vacation annually at Keaton's Hamptons beach house in Something's Gotta Give and Kate Winslet's English cottage in The Holiday. In a recent must-read New York Times Magazine profile, Meyers, who believes a home and its furnishings can develop a character,...

John Ratzenberger, who became a household name with his portrayal of Cliff Clavin on the long-running hit show "Cheers," will be awarded the 2008 Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival Career Achievement Award at the opening of the prestigious film festival. Ratzenberger will receive the award on October 17 at the Miniaci Performing Arts Center.
Although most fans recognize Ratzenberger as the all-knowing Cliff, his career began in the '70s and includes directing, voiceover work and even a run on "Dancing with the Stars" as a celebrity dancer.
Born in 1947 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, his career began when he formed the improv theatre duo "Sal's Meat Market," which performed throughout Europe for 634 straight performances. During that period, Ratzenberger was also a producer/writer for the BBC, Paravision, Royal Court Theater, Hampstead Theater Club, Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, and Granada TV.
