Charlotte Gainsbourg (Jane Birkin's daughter and at that time Jacques Doillon's stepdaughter) admitted that when she knew that the role of The Young Girl would to be played by Laure Marsac, she became jealous. Marsac won in 1985 a Cesar Award as a Most Promising Actress by her performance. The next year, Gainsbourg won the same award by her performance in L'effrontée (1985), and was Laure Marsac who handed it to her.
