Due to the success of this show, the Israeli Instructional Television Centre produced the series Neighbours (1976), for teaching English for the fifth grade students. Most of "Here We Are" cast (except Peter Feldman and Aaron Kaplan) also appeared in "Neighbours".
The script writer Lew Golan chose the last names of the characters Miss Kaplan and Messrs Golan as an inside-joke about him and the show director Irving Kaplan.
The opening sequence of the show was filmed in Dizengoff Square. The first line of the opening song was initially "Here we are at Dizengoff Circle", but it was changed to more general term "Here we are at the center of town" - so that the young audience who did not live in Tel-Aviv would feel that this was also his town center.
