Den siste Fleksnes (The last Fleksnes) was a huge success in Norwegian cinemas in 1974, where 25% of the Norwegian population went to the Cinas to get a laugh of this.
Built on the very popular TV-series "fleksnes faytaliteter", based upon the british comedy series "Hancock's Half Hour", we follow the unmarried storage worker Marve Fleksnes and his way of getting into troubled situations with his naïve and grumpy way of dealing with everyday life. He's still living at home with his parents, where his mother is both best friend and keeping him down.
The movie deals with the problem that Fleksnes can't find a wife and therefore has no children to make the bloodline go on. So this is obviously both funny and tragic.
Main character Mrve is playec by Rolf Wesenlund, a comedian, musician anf actor which almost grew into this role so hard no-one else can ever play him. In this he became immensely popular. The movie also got great critics and is concidered a Norwegian comedy classic.
The script was written by Wesenlund and director Bo Hermansson and the film delivers what is to beexpected. It's a cherished classic also containing Aud schønemann, as the mother, maybe the most famous female comedian actress in Norway ever.
This movie is made available in 2024 when it was released on interregional Blu-Ray Disk by Norwegian Film Classics as the 36th release in a new series with classics, NFK0036, with subtitles in English, and is supposed to be held in stock for film lovers.
