Gun fighter Steve Forrest is found guilty and hanged. A doctor signs the death certificate. Only he's not dead. When he recovers, he goes wandering and finds mine owner Sharon Acker and her son standing off Cameron Mitchell and his gang with only Will Geer to help.
This TV movie was intended to kick off a series for Forrest. Filled with some of the violence and weird landscape that Italian spaghetti westerns had been providing for ten years or so. By this time, however, the TV western was in firm decline, and keeping it clean enough for television censors to let through resulted in a hard pass on this. Still, there are some good points, like filming in the Sonoran desert, the air that something more than was natural was going on, and a cast that includes Ray Teal (in his last screen appearance), Dean Jagger, and Hank Worden.
