Ahead of the new documentary Hollywood Dreams and Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story coming to Screambox on June 6, Englund was in attendance at the Aero Theatre on Saturday, May 13 for Hollywood Dreams and Nightmares: A Robert Englund Marathon. The event was co-presented by Bloody Disgusting and Beyond Fest.

As part of the special event, Englund took part in an hour-long Q&a session on stage at the Aero Theatre, and the full video was uploaded by Chuck Pennington III (@ChuckPenn3).

Don’t fall asleep! Horror enthusiasts won’t want to miss the premiere of “Hollywood Dreams and Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story,” an upcoming documentary chronicling the storied legacy of veteran horror film star Robert Englund, best known for his role as Freddy Krueger in the “Nightmare on Elm Street” franchise.

Cinedigm acquired North American rights to the film and will give it an exclusive theatrical run before the documentary hits the Bloody Disgusting streamer Screambox in late spring, tied to Englund’s 75th birthday on June 6.

The project was shot over two years by co-directors Christopher Griffiths and Gary Smart, who also penned the story alongside Neil Morris. The doc features interviews from Englund, his wife Nancy and other renowned actors of the genre like Lin Shaye, Eli Roth, Kane Hoodder, Tony Todd, Adam Green, Bill Moseley and Heather Langenkamp.

No horror fan needs to be introduced to the likes of Robert Englund, a name which in the collective imagery has become synonymous with so many different and varied aspects of the genre that he has left a deep and undeniable mark on. Needless to say, the thread holding together Englund’s celluloid persona is streaked with red and dark green, but the Californian actor could also resonate with many for the work he did with Tobe Hooper; his participation in ’90s items such as Urban Legend (1998), Strangeland (1998), and Wishmaster (1997); his previous work, during a time in which Freddy was still taking shape in the mind of Wes Craven, including Bruce D. Clark’s Galaxy of Terror (1981); or his recurring role as “Willie” in the TV series V (1983–1985).

Last year Travel Channel announced that the legendary Robert Englund (the man responsible for giving generations of moviegoers nightmares) would host a new series centered on unsettling stories behind some of the most haunting headlines to ever be printed in American newspapers. Originally titled Shadows of History, the series is now called True Terror with Robert Englund, and you can mark your calendars and ready your DVRs, as Travel Channel has revealed a premiere date for the show.

Chicago – In one of Jan-Michael Vincent’s most recent photos, taken in 2016 by photographer Joe Arce of HollywoodChicago.com, the ex-heart throb actor is revealed as a man who lived his life hard to the end. Vincent died last month in Asheville, North Carolina, on February 10th, 2019. He was 73.

Jan-Michael Vincent was born in Denver, and after high school in Washington state he bounced around with three years of college and a stint in the California National Guard. In 1966, he began to audition, and his rugged good looks landed him in a Robert Conrad film “The Bandits” (1967). After doing several TV and movie bit parts, he scored in the early 1970s with high profile roles in “Going Home” (1970), “The Mechanic” (1972) and in Walt Disney’s “The World’s Greatest Athlete” (1973) as the title character.

Jan-Michael Vincent, best known for playing the lead role in the 1980s CBS series “Airwolf,” died on Feb. 10 after suffering cardiac arrest, according to a death certificate obtained by several outlets. His death, first reported by TMZ, has only now come to light. He was 73.

His image as a baby-faced blonde heartthrob was at odds with his history of violence and substance abuse. The troubled 1970s TV star had a long string of arrests and charges relating to domestic violence, drug possession, and alcohol abuse.

Vincent’s acting career began in 1967, when he was spotted by a talent scout just after finishing a stint in the California Army National Guard. His first film was the Robert Conrad movie “The Bandits.”

Born in Denver, he was signed to Universal Studios in the late ’60s by casting agent Dick Clayton, and in 1969, he appeared in the John Wayne and Rock Hudson Civil War pic “The Undefeated.

He starred opposite Charles Bronson in The Mechanic in 1972 (see where that falls on my list of best Bronson movies Here) and he played the title role in Disney’s The World’S Greatest Athlete the next year. Jan-Michael Vincent went on to star in a string of modest hits in the ‘70s – Baby Blue Marine, Buster And Billie, Defiance, Vigilante Force and my favorite – White Line Fever. He was in Bite The Bullet with Gene Hackman in 1975 and costarred with Burt Reynolds in Hooper in 1978. With his chiseled features, effortless screen presence, otherworldly vitality, striking blue eyes, Jan-Michael Vincent seemed destined for superstardom. However, the real Jan-Michael Vincent was a reluctant sex symbol plagued by doubt and low self-confidence, a perpetual misfit doomed to alcoholism.

Chicago – Robert Englund will inevitably and forever be linked with his most famous character, Freddy Krueger of “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and its sequels and spin-offs. But he has had a rich journey to Freddy, and connects with him through a myriad of character actor experiences.

Englund started as a classical actor, with training through a program from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. When he got back to his native California, he won a role in the cult film “Buster and Billie.” Moving up the ladder from there, it was his part in the 1983 TV mini-series “V” that got him on the map. Freddy was a year later, and the rest is horror film history.
