In 1986, a Florida satellite television tech named John R. MacDougall successfully intercepted HBO broadcasting for nearly five minutes with a message of protest regarding their rates. For this event, he referred to himself as "Captain Midnight", inspired by this film (which he'd seen a short time earlier). MacDougall was subsequently prosecuted by the FCC, and slapped with a fine of US$5000 and one year of probation.

Goofs
At the party at Magic Mountain, the band performing there is completely out-of-sync with the music being heard, and the singer is often away from the microphone when he is singing.

wish this would come out to dvd or vhs

I saw this movie years ago as a kid and loved it. I want to see it again but cant seem to find it anywhere. The music in it is great. Probably not a good movie but I am dying to see it again just for memories. It was a dreamy movie that I saw myself living out. I have literally watched it about 50 times (I used to have it on vhs but now its gone). If anyone has this on tape or anything e-mail me please with a link to buy. The character (Captain Midnight) was someone in the movie that I could see myself being like back in the day but never had the bravery to go through with it.
