The seasons in Central Park shift constantly between spring, summer, and fall, sometimes within the same scene.
During Claude's bus trip at the start, he passes a field of ripe orange pumpkins, indicating autumn. When he gets to New York, specifically after the party where George stops the car, yellow forsythia are in bloom indicating spring, and the trees are all green.
While Steve and Sheila are driving to the school on their own,
Sheila's hair is straight. After Berger "joins" them, it is curly.
When Berger enters the camp in the borrowed car wearing the borrowed uniform, just before the MP raises the barrier, Berger wears sunglasses. The next shot, from the side, shows him in the car rolling through the gate without glasses. The next shot shows him front again, with the glasses back on.
Just before the soldiers march onto the transport plane, there's a shot of the propellers beginning to turn. But then as they are marching on board, the propellers are still.
Bukowski would never be sent from Oklahoma to New York City to complete his physical or be processed prior to his entry into the Army. That would be done regionally, and he would have actually gone somewhere much closer to his home.
Most of the recruits in Bukowski's barracks have hair longer than permitted including Bukowski himself.
Jeannie offers to marry Claude so he couldn't be drafted. This would mean the time is prior to August 1965. However, when the soldiers shoot up the speakers in the scene with the General, they use M16s, which weren't introduced until 1967.
Way too many soldiers are shown getting on the transport plane that Burger gets on. Also, troops are not marched onto such aircraft.
During "Good Morning Starshine," the convertible's rear-view mirror has been removed to get a better shot of Sheila, who is sitting in the middle. Later, when Berger drives to the army camp, the mirror is back where it belongs.
Removing the rear-view mirror is a filming technique used to enhance the audience's viewing pleasure. It has been used in the movie industry for over eight decades; it is not a Goof.

Bukowski does basic training in Nevada. The officers and NCOs are shown wearing unit patches for the 1st Cavalry Division. At that time, this division was deployed to Vietnam and its stateside cadre was at Fort Benning, Georgia. Therefore, it would not have troops in Nevada or be involved in basic training which would be handled by designated training units.
(at around 28 mins) When Sheila and her two friends are smoking pot in her bedroom, her father impatiently knocks on the door, then her mother comes and demands she "open this door immediately." After spraying some air freshener and more repeated demands from her parents, the door is opened, apparently by an unseen hand, as the three women are all seated on the bed in a perfectly posed position, but too far away from the door for any of them to have opened it.
Although the film takes place in the 1960s, Citicorp Tower, which was topped off in 1976, looms large in the background of the Central Park scene.
During the "Let The Sunshine In" sequence, several crowd members are holding cameras that were not available in 1967-1968.
While everyone (male) is dancing in jail, an extra goes to jump at fence/bars and misses terribly.
During the Army physicals, most of the officers of the panel are wearing their ribbons on their Class A uniforms out of order.
