- John Foster: Why don't you charge the Colonel with obstructing the police?
- Kenward: Yes, I might. On the other hand, it could be just the natural behavior of an arrogant overbearing high-ranking sod. Keep that off the record, by the way.
- Agatha Christie: Why are you smiling?
- Wally Stanton: I am smiling because you're just like your books after all. Always a surprise ending.
- Wally Stanton: Would you care for a kiss?
- Agatha Christie: No.
- Wally Stanton: Would you care for a cigarette?
- Agatha Christie: No thank you.
- Wally Stanton: Would you care if I told you that these clumsy attempts of humor are simply my way of telling you that I find myself very attracted to you?
- Agatha Christie: I'd much rather you didn't.
- Wally Stanton: Why?
- Agatha Christie: Because I love my husband very much. My husband was very dear to me.
- Wally Stanton: I see that you're keeping up with the Agatha Christie affair. Tell me, do you think that she is dead? Everyone seems to.
- Agatha Christie: They do, don't they?
- Wally Stanton: That is all except her husband. I read this morning that he offered five hundred pounds for information. What do you think?
- Agatha Christie: Perhaps that is all she is worth.
- Col. Archibald Christie: Our situation is intolerable. I don't love you and you can not love me. Our marriage is finished. It's over. Agatha, listen to me. I want a divorce. I love Miss Neele and I want to marry her.
- Kenward: Well, in the past, Sir, there have been rumors in the past that Mrs Christie threatened to kill herself.
- Kenward: Utter rubbish. Servants' gossip.
- Col. Archibald Christie: I dare say you know that my wife is a well known writer of murder mysteries. Poison, intrigue, murder and suicides. It's everyday family small talk.
- Kenward: I see Sir. So you have absolutely no idea what might have happened to her?
- Col. Archibald Christie: I am sure that nothing at all has happened to her. But I would strongly urge you, in your own interest, to call all this off.
- Nancy Neele: Are you sure you don't want me to stay?
- Col. Archibald Christie: It's for the best. Once she stops playingher bloody stupid games I'll sort it out. Once and for all. Decently.
- Nancy Neele: I love you very much.
- John Foster: What's Colonel Christie up to? I can't get an interview with him.
- Kenward: "My wife has disappeared. No comment." Odd way to behave, wouldn't you say? If it was your wife that was missing.
- John Foster: I'm not married.
- Wally Stanton: Sooner or later someone is going to find her. It would be much better for her and for me if that someone is myself. Otherwise it will be the police, and everyone will be down on her like vultures.
- Chamber maid: All are full of this missing writing woman. Her husband says "I am very worried and very harrassed." Poor man.
- Agatha Christie: If he's determined to find her, he will.
- Wally Stanton: [in the swimming pool, to Agatha who is afraid to move away from the edge because she cannot swim] Come on. If I can walk here, you can.
