- Bonnie Barry: What are you doing?
- [Betty is sniffing what it appears to be blood]
- Betty Barry: Where have you two been?
- Bonnie Barry: I said, what are you doing sneaking around in here?
- Betty Barry: I found this in your room. What is it?
- Charlie Barry: It's just paint.
- Betty Barry: It looks like blood.
- Charlie Barry: Leave my things alone. Get out of my room and forget all about this. I mean it.
- Betty Barry: What's the matter with the two of you?
- Charlie Barry: [final line] There were 10 pups in that litter. Where do you suppose the other nine are?
- Shaman: Mr. Lomax.
- Mr. Lomax, Dog Breeder: Come on in.
- Red Haired Lady: Good morning.
- Mr. Lomax, Dog Breeder: How you folks don't today?
- Red Haired Lady: Very well. You are recommended in the National Breeders Guide. They said you have some very good dogs.
- Mr. Lomax, Dog Breeder: You won't find any better. What can I show you?
- Red Haired Lady: The breed doesn't matter, but the dog must be very special.
- Mr. Lomax, Dog Breeder: Well, come on back here. Got some exceptional pups. Show quality.
- [All the dogs are barking rather aggressively at them]
- Mr. Lomax, Dog Breeder: Hey, hey. Come on! Quiet down, fellows!
- Red Haired Lady: You mentioned puppies. We're not interested in puppies.
- Mr. Lomax, Dog Breeder: Oh.
- Red Haired Lady: We want a female dog, you're very best. Intelligent, healthy, one who's already given birth to a litter and proven herself. And is in season now, ready to breed.
- Mr. Lomax, Dog Breeder: Well, sure we uh.. we have animals for breeding. I uhh... I raise show dogs, but uh, champion stock breeder like that... It's gonna be expensive.
- Shaman: That doesn't matter.
- Mr. Lomax, Dog Breeder: All right, let's go back here, take a look at the Lady. Right over here. This is Lady. She is as good as they come. She has had two litters already, three of her pups are Blue Ribbon winners. She's great around children too. Raised her round my own grandkids.
- Red Haired Lady: That isn't necessary. She won't be around children.
- Mr. Lomax, Dog Breeder: [Lady is whimpering] that isn't like her at all. She doesn't have a shy bone in her body. Lady! Come here, baby!
- Red Haired Lady: How much?
- Mr. Lomax, Dog Breeder: Well, I was planning on breeding her with my champion stock tomorrow. Now, I could get.. six, eight pups, and sell'em for $500, $600 each one.
- Red Haired Lady: How much?
- Mr. Lomax, Dog Breeder: Well, I don't know... The truth is... I'm very fond of Lady. I'd like to know why you want her.
- Red Haired Lady: We're not adopting a child you know, we're buying a dog.
- Mr. Lomax, Dog Breeder: I'm afraid I'd have to have a minimum of... $5,000.
- Red Haired Lady: She's the one.
