The show, with regular host correspondents are Mark McKinnon, John Heilemann and Jennifer Palmieri, will have its final episode on Sunday on Paramount+ with Showtime and Showtime linear.

Showtime decided not to renew the series amid changes at the premium network. One of the big champions of the show, David Nevins, departed last year.

The Circus is ending just on the cusp of the 2024 presidential cycle, in what might be a fight-to-the-finish rematch between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, the latter of whom is likely to spend the better part of the year in court facing criminal charges.

It has shown how having staggering amounts of money can render some people above the law because, in a predominantly capitalistic world, those with a lot of money have a millennium's worth of a head start over others.

But most of what we saw throughout the six seasons seemed a little out of the realm of possibility since the first time we were coming alive to the facts presented was through dramatization.

It all became too real when Mike Prince's plan was revealed in the Billions Season 6 finale. It felt eerily familiar that a billionaire who overestimated himself thought he was the solution to the common person's problem and would do anything to prove it. Anything.

Six further titles added to interim agreement list.

SAG-AFTRA has provided interim agreements to a further six independent productions after announcing an initial 39 on Tuesday including Sam Raimi horror Don’t Move and The Watchers, which has been shooting in Ireland.

Billions is officially coming to an end as Showtime has confirmed that the upcoming seventh season will be the final one for the drama series.

The final season of Billions will see Damian Lewis returning as Bobby “Axe” Axelrod. The actor previously departed the series after the fifth season. When Lewis made his first exit, he posted the following on Instagram: “Thank you @SHO_Billions thank you @briankoppelman @DavidLevien.

After a successful awards season, “Triangle of Sadness” is one of several films being added to The Criterion Collection this month.

Directed by the irreverent Swedish satirist Ruben Östlund, the film follows two supermodels on a doomed luxury cruise that leaves the pair stranded on a deserted island along with some of their fellow passengers and a Marxist captain. Showtime recently teased that the Billions universe will expand with a plethora of spinoffs, but the main series is coming to an end.

Dan Soder, who has been with the show since the beginning, revealed the surprising fate of the hit drama over the weekend during an appearance on NBC Sports Chicago's Football Night in Chicago.

"Season 7, the final season of Billions, is on its way," Soder said during the telecast, adding:

"Am I not supposed to say that? I don't know if I'm supposed to say that."

"It doesn't matter. You just said it," Mike Berman responded.

Soder replied, "It's the final season."

Showtime has yet to confirm the news, but Soder's announcement isn't that surprising.

It was recently reported that Damian Lewis would return for an arc on Billions Season 7, which could be to wrap up Axe's journey on-screen.

"Bobby's back," Lewis told Stephen Colbert last month.

Damian Lewis is returning to Showtime’s Billions for the finance drama’s upcoming seventh season.

The move marks a reversal for the actor, who exited his position as the show’s co-lead, playing hedge fund billionaire Bobby Axelrod, after season five. Lewis will appear in six of the new season’s 12 episodes.

Lewis’ departure was explained by his character going on the run from legal troubles. Co-star Corey Stoll was then upped to series regular and his character took over Axe’s company.

Instead, viewers had to watch the same Chuck and Prince tit for tat the money drama’s writers have been foisting upon us all season long with little to no payoff. This time, Chuck tried to blackmail Kate, used a fake warrant to confiscate one of his cryptocurrency storage boxes, and did a bunch of other illegal stuff to take down Prince.

Up until the moment Axe escaped to Switzerland in the Billions Season 5 finale, fans were probably thinking the character would look into the camera and say “just kidding” and run back to Wendy’s loving arms in New York.

It is often hard enough to conjure the right mood for one installment of an anthology series, but what if your task is five times that? Music supervisor Ed Bailie was tasked by Academy Award-nominated director Steve McQueen to do just that for “Small Axe,” a quintet of period-specific films about Black life in England ranging from the 1960s to the 1980s, touching on social topics from police brutality to the failings of the education system to a raging house party’s effect on young lives. “We used about 80 or 90 songs in the course of ‘Small Axe,'” says Bailie, “and each film had different music illustrated in the scripts, so every part carved their own identities throughout”.

For “Mangrove,” the lengthiest and arguably most-charged entry that opens “Axe,” Bailie took his cue from the Trinidadian-settled Notting Hill of the late 1960s — far removed from the gentrified neighborhood seen years...

Steve McQueen has launched movies at Cannes, Venice, and Telluride. He’s received rapturous reviews calling him “masterful” and declaring his work Oscar-bound. But no premiere compared to his anthology series, “Small Axe,” when it hit the BBC and Amazon Prime Video late last year.
