Unknown but historical film

This no budget film was written and directed by Henny Youngman's "other grandson", Gary Youngman. Youngman had hoped to use this short film as a vehicle into mainstream film-making, but instead it provided a platform for the launching of several new stars and starlets.

John Heard, Jill Eikenberry, Tom Berenger and Judith Kahan all turn in the kind of top-flight performances that they will become widely known for in coming years - even though they were either unknown or just becoming known during the shooting of this film.

Supposedly, this film was provided to Showtime at no charge, as a way to get it the widest possible coverage: it worked too! I am not aware of a single screen (not even an indie screen) that booked this film, but it received hundreds of hours of play on Showtime as a filler.

This effort has remained virtually unknown, despite the all-star cast - it's a jewel in the rough, and worth an opportunity to screen it.

One of my favorite little movies

This is a nice, sweet movie about a young girl trying to make it on her own in New York city. The girl is played by Judith Kahan and she's very good. She gets mixed up with the wrong guy played by Tom Berenger. However she has this very nice friend played by one of my favorite actors, John Heard. Eventually you know she and John Heard will eventually hook up. Rush It reminds me of another fine film, Ruby in Paradise. One thing I especially liked about the movie is the music. It's a shame that this very likeable movie is mostly unknown and forgotten.

Forgotten little New York independent film.

This features a cast of soon to be stars in a movie about New York letter bike carriers. The film centers on Catherine (Kahan) who falls in love with her co-worker Berenger. The film is very short for it only runs about 73 minutes. Catchy 70's tune and good performance by the cast helps this no-budget film run very well. I don't know the actors name, but the guy who runs the company gives the same performance many years later on NATIONAL LAMPOON'S GOES TO THE MOVIES. This film use to play on cable channel Showtime alot back when they weren't a 24hrs channel. Recommended.

Best of the bike delivery films

a breath of fresh air. This is a breezy film of a bike delivery lady looking for love. It contains future stars of La Law,St elsewhere,Whos the boss in early performances. The star is an underrated actress named Judy Kahan. Her character is an always upbeat lady who ,despite holding a masters degree, seems to enjoy her job as the bike messenger.

The film is greatly supported by its New York locations and a bouncy soundtrack by Buzzy Linhart. It portrays everyday people and not cardboard characters, unlike the Kevin Bacon film ,quicksilver, which was a totally hokey story of a fallen Wall Street executive who loses everything and takes on a bike messenger job, only to rise again as a wall Street exec.

I declare Rush It the Best of the bike delivery films
