A funny older married man gets caught up in a maze of prostitution, murder and madness. As far as 60s sexploitation curios are concerned, this one's a very freaky, bizarre, weird, strange, trippy, LSD-laced sixties excursion that makes some sense at times, but little sense at others. I'll leave it up to you whether or not you think the mystery gets solved by the end of the movie. There is a lot of nudity on display in addition to the freakiness, and in all fairness I can't say I wasn't drawn into the festivities and kept wondering what was going to happen next.

Not at all bad.
Mundane storyline and poor central performances from the male, who prances about like some mix of Hugh Heffner and Mr Hulot, even down to the pipe, and the female, who must be 10 years older than the decent looking girls and only has about four facial expressions which she uses in all the wrong places.
Nevertheless there is a lot of flesh and when one of the girls guides his knife holding hand across her bared flesh we realize this is not going to be simply a series of striptease routines. Ludicrous and poorly made but just enough warped vision to make it interesting.

Help Wanted, Female is a mediocre entry in the sexploitation genre, with a convoluted plot about a call girl whose client confesses some nasty habits. The flashback/dream sequence format allows us to know too much before it happens, and too much of what happens doesn't make much sense (like the whole beach sequence). Still, it's an interesting study in snuff, altho a bit of a cop-out in the end. The male lead's foppishness draws away from the pretty girls, but the female lead is the real distraction (she is decidedly NOT one of the pretty girls). As usual, bad jazz scores the sex and crime.
