27-year-old first-time director Raúl Ruiz was forced to abandon this project in 1967 due to lack of funding for the movie's sound design. A set of film rolls containing his unfinished debut's original silent footage was found in the cellar of an old theatre in Santiago de Chile in 2016. Lip-reading and body-language experts were involved in the restoration work for a 2020 premiere.
