Funny and amusing film , though middlingly directed by José Maria Elorrieta . A witch (gorgeous Maria Perschy) from the 16th century falls for a modern-day professor (Jeffrey Hunter) and by means of a magic amulet she sends him on an adventure in time in which he becomes involved into abundant problems , first to the Stone Age , after the Nero emperor time and eventually a far future where there aren't men ,but with plenty of women (Paloma Cela and several others) .
This likable movie relies heavily in confusion , mayhem when a professor meets a fantastic witch appearing here and there , and even troubles arise when he is wonderfully transported to Stone Age and Roman time .This flick features beautiful girls , inadequate costumes , dated atrezzo and stodgy action sequences , feeling too cheap and though actually convince us at times , it results to be an average flick . It's the sort of story that surprises us due to the ridiculous , absurd happenings and with non-sense set pieces . Here stands out the enjoyable performances from the American Jeffrey Hunter and Austrian Maria Perschy as the bombshell who seduces him . They're well accompanied by an all-support-Spanish-cast , such as : Perla Cristal , Gustavo Rojo, Félix Dafauce , Marisol Ayuso, Julio Pérez Tabernero , Antonio Pica ,Alfonso de la Vega , Esperanza Roy ,Frank Braña and Al Mulock -playing Wurlitz the Wizard- who a bit later on , he committed suicide on the set of his last movie The Good , The Bad and the Ugly (1968) by jumping from a hotel, on location in Guadix, Andalucia.
Atmospheric cinematography by cameraman Alfonso Nieva showing Madrid outdoors , being shot on various location in Colmenar Viejo , Manzanares del Real , La Pedriza, Madrid and Toledo, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain . The movie was produced in medium budget by Sidney W. Pink, a North American producer who financed several co-productions in Spain, such as : Fuego, El valle de las Espadas, Tabu, La llamada, Un sudario a su medida , Joe Navidad, Finger on the trigger, Una bruja sin escoba, among others. The motion picture was regularly directed by José Maria Elorrieta who used to be nicknamed under pseudonym, Joe Lacy . He was a prolific director who worked a lot along his short life, as he died at 53. He directed all kinds genres, such as : Spaghetti Western : ¨7 de Pancho Villa¨, ¨Siete disparos al amanecer¨, ¨Fuerte perdido¨ , ¨El hombre de la diligencia¨, ¨Si quieres vivir dispara¨. ¨A Witch Without a Broom¨(1967) trating 5.5/10 , mediocre .
