After killing his father, Norman Sandel : Giacomo Rossi Stuart or Jack Stuart seeks for vengeance against the boss of the henchmen who murdered him . He meets other gunfighters : Riccardo Garrone , Daniele Vargas , Jose Torres , who are looking for the Colonel : John McDouglas who knows the whereabout a treaure , thousands dollars of the Confederacy . While Danger City is attacked by the ruthless Ramon : Dan Vadis and his henchmen . Unable to find the treasure , Ramon takes hostages all men, leaving at the small town only women and children . To be aware of the Colonel is kidnapped by Ramon , then Norman decides to free him . Four men , searching for vengeance , agree to help the villagers . Along the way they teach the shooting to women to defend themselves. But Ramon , uitimately carries an attack without quarter : Degueyo , with no people alive , all of them have to die .
An exciting Spaghetti Western packing noisy action , fights , shootouts and violence by carrying out a lot of killings in cold blood . The picture is a bawdy, action-packed Westen with ambitious people searching for a treasure , though the protagonists redeem themselves by helping the unfortunate women who ask for their husbands . It results to be an acceptable Western All'Italiana including high body-count with a really baddie enemy Don Vadis as Ramon taking on a quartet of saviours : Jack Stuart , Jose Torres , Danele Vargas , Riccardo Garrone . It is a typical, so-so movie but acceptable and passable .
Atmospheric cinematography in Technicolor , Techniscope by cameraman Silvano Ippoliti , shot in Lazio , Rome . Emotive and moving musical score composed by Alexandre Derevitsky by using the leitmotiv "Degueyo" that has been musical background of several films as Río Bravo and El Alamo . The yarn was uneven but professionally directed by Giuseppe Vari , nicknamed under pseudonym Joseph Warren . Vari was a good artisan who made all kinds of ordinary Itaian genres and exploitation movies as Apocayptic Sci-Fi : Urban Warriors , Warfare : Revenge of the Bloody Beach, Nunexploitation : Sor Emmanuel, Peplum : Revenge of the Barbarians , Rome versus Rome , Conquest of the Normans and specially Spaghetti Western : Hole in the Forehead or un Boco in fronte , Un Posto all'inferno , Con Lui Cavalca la Morte , Un Poker Di Pistole and this Deguello . Rating : 5.5/10.

Degueyo is an exceptional spaghetti western. It's not among the greatest but it's just barely under the top tier spaghetti westerns imo. What i especially liked were several things. First and foremost the plot, is linear, actually makes sense and is complex enough to keep your attention. 2nd, main Characters are given enough back story that you care about them. 3rd, they do mostly logical things, ie when a baddie is dispatched the protagonists actually take their weapons and ammo knowing they'll need it later.
Performances are good and overall a very grim feel pervades throughout. Dan Vadis as the main bad guy is excellent, he moves with great energy and you can tell he relished this role. Rossi Stuart as well does great as the hero.
The film is fairly violent for its time and let's just say not too many of the characters get out of it alive. My highest marks would go to the script / plot. Much tighter than most spaghetti westerns and more complex. No, it's not perfect but it's very enjoyable and I've seen a lot of italian westerns. Just know that this is basically a siege type plot/ primarily taking place in the town itself, so no emphasis on expansive Vistas or impressive desert visuals. Anyway, recommended and currently can be seen on YouTube.

This would rank among the best of the best when it comes to spaghetti westerns, in my opinion, largely because of the performance of the actor, Dan Vadis.
His Ramon is one of the most despicable and sadistic characters I've ever seen, therefore he's a joy to watch. Vadis was among the best actors (of the exported American body builders), rivaling Steve Reeves and all the others. He appeared comfortable on screen, as though he felt at home. His good looks and stunning body were nice to look at, yet he wasn't the least afraid of playing down his handsomeness by playing roles like this one.
He could play both good guys and bad, but somehow he seemed to prefer playing the bad guys, and it showed in his performances. I wish he had made more films than he did, especially in the bad guy roles, but what's done is done, and he tragically died of an overdose before he even reached his fifties. What a shame! The film is definitely not for the ladies, or for the squeamish. It's a mean-spirited, blood-thirsty look at the underbelly of the old west. Ramon doesn't have a decent bone in his body, and he would just as soon kill a woman as a man, totally without honor, or feelings for anyone other than himself. I love such movies, but others might find it way too dark and violent.
If you like dark, violent westerns, this is a must-see.
