The heroes ended up on the shore of the lake, through which they crossed with the help of a raft. However, Strashila hung on a pole, in addition, a storm arose and instantly carried everyone ashore. Barely alive, the heroes meet the Cowardly Lion, who allegedly attacked Totoshka. The hostess keeps Totoshka away from the Lion, saying that he is cowardly. Having told the reason, the lion burst into tears, declaring that he wanted to become bold.

The guards of the Emerald City, seeing Ellie in silver shoes for the first time, decide that a fairy has come to them, and allow her and her friends to Goodwin. The Great and Terrible wizard appears before them in different guises and announces that he will fulfill all their desires when the friends defeat the evil sorceress Bastinda, who sends Flying Monkeys to the Emerald City, who cover the flowers with sand.

Ellie, Strashila, Zheleznyy Drovosek, the Lion and Totoshka set off again and come to the Purple Country, where for some reason the wells are covered with sand. The stupid Wolf, Bastinda's servant, says that the mistress does not like water: if you splash it on her, she will melt. Strashila offers to go to Bastinda's castle, taking water.

Time passes. Ellie's uncle, the old sailor Charlie, is staying at Ellie's house. Crow Kaggi-Karr brings a letter from Strashila, from which Ellie learns that her friends are in trouble. It turns out that the eagle owl, who used to serve Gingham, brought a chest with the life-giving powder of his former mistress to the gloomy and power-hungry carpenter Oorfene Deuce.

Uncle Charlie, Ellie, Kaggi-Karr and faithful Totoshka are sent to the Magic Land on a land ship. On the border of the country, there are black stones of Gingham, attracting all strangers to themselves, but the crow turns to Villina for help, and she eliminates the evil spell with wonderful berries. Ellie, the sailor and Toto get to the underground passage, drive away the terrible Six-paws along the way, reach the palace prison and get out of it together with the released friends, sawing through the bars on the window.

The sailor tries to shoot back at the wooden army from the ship's cannon, but the cannonballs quickly run out. The whole team has to leave the ship, damaged by soldiers' clubs. Then Strashila comes up with the idea of catching Oorfene's soldiers with the help of tree resin. Zheleznyy Drovosek cuts kind faces instead of evil faces for the captured wooden figures, and the former warriors become gardeners and foresters to grow new trees in place of the felled ones.

Ellie is home again. The neighbour boy Tim, having heard about her travels to the Magic Land, also decides to show off to the girl and takes her with him on a boat trip to the Singing Cave. An underground river leads to the Magic Land; confirmation of this - Totoshka starts talking again. The friends meet a huge but cute chick, which Tim protects from the Six-Clawed, and then enter the country of the Underground Miners, which is ruled by seven kings, each with a different day of the week. The Keeper of Time watches over a clear change of sovereigns, and every evening lulls the king who has reigned with the Water of Oblivion.

A week passes, the rest of the kings wake up, it becomes difficult for the Keeper of Time to maintain order. Ellie begins to defiantly cast spells, and Toto secretly escapes into the underground corridors. The scent takes him to the Emerald City, and Strashila with Zheleznyy Drovosek and the Lion rush to the rescue, taking with them a pomp and a drill. Having reached the Underground, friends drill the earth, extract the Water of Oblivion, the kings get drunk and fall asleep again.
