Very much of its time, although it probably seemed a little dated even in 1973. I doubt anyone under the age of 50 would appreciate this very gentle comedy and it isn't really that funny, although it is perfectly watchable. It was nice to be reminded how polite most people were in those days. I guess a couple of the highlights from watching it are seeing a youngish Gareth Hunt and Christopher Timothy although they are both in it only fleetingly. The mighty fine Lalla Ward is one of the main characters some six years before she joined the Time Lord both on and off screen. Margret Leighton and Charles Gray are both solid if someone forgettable as the main characters. Give it a watch if you want to be transported back in time.
