Jan Halldorf is one of my personal favorites when it comes to swedish directors, combining great drama with some clever screwball comedy.
And this masterpiece sure delivers in that department. It's a very isolated film, taking place in a limited space and focusing on many, yet a very set number of characters. These kind of experimental films are always appreciated when it's well done, and Halldorf strikes gold!
In tone, like some of his other films, it's very much of a John Landis type of film, yet not quite as heavy on the comedy and still conveying some great drama.
The actors all do an incredible job, as they should given how established most of them are, and came to be later - and the cinematography is beautiful.
An incredible film to be sure!
