In another confusing return of previous cast members, here Kyôsuke Machida plays the prominent role of Egushi Kohei, former yakuza member and boss of the farming community, despite having appeared in every previous entry in the series in the role of entirely different person Fujimatsu "the immortal" and fellow yakuza member of Oryu's. Oryu apparently does not recognize that Kohei looks identical to her earlier comrade-in-arms.
