Reportedly, Virginia Leith hated the film so much she refused to return for post-production. At least a few of her lines were dubbed by Doris Brent, who played a nurse.
The film was completed in 1959 under the working title The Black Door but was not theatrically released until May 3, 1962 under its new title due to various legal problems.
The DVD version boasts an alternative version of the scene where the model poses for photographers in a more skimpy, semi-nude negligee.
