What Can I Say, I Like Her

Started watching this after seeing Phyllis Coates. I have always liked her look and think she is a good actress. Then I saw John Dierkes and thought it has to be a good movie. I wouldn't say it was a good movie, rather more like a decent episode from a 50's TV Western. It was fun to watch, but not at all memorable. Interesting also is seeing Rocky. Shahan, of Rawhide, playing an Indian.

I hesitatee between lesser or worst from Charles Marquis Warren

This is the western I like the less from this amazing western director, and also western screen writer. OK, it is question here of a disease that spreads and brings then a bit of suspense. But Scott Brady's character is weak, bland, nothing to do with other gunfighters characters, that I have seen in my long movie buff life. Yes, I don't regret to have seen it, because it is from Chuck Marquis Warren; I am glad to have seen it but that's all. I don't recommand it for those in search of gritty, bleak stories. It is not ARROW IN THE DUST. But for a simple western seeker, of course it remains agreeable. Don't worry.

    Blood Arrow

Phyllis Coates is cast as a devout Mormon girl whose mission is to transport smallpox vaccine to her friends and neighbors. Unfortunately, this requires her to journey through hostile Indian territory. Appointing themselves as the girl's unofficial protectors are Indian scout Scott Brady, trapper Don Haggerty and (reluctantly) gambler Paul Richards.

A familiar tale of trekking through Indian territory is given a boost by Coate's performance- her character is very likeable and she is far from a damsel in distress, Scott Brady as the bitter gunfighter and the simple yet thoughtful dialogue. It can be a bit slow and nothing you haven't seen before, but it's not too bad. Makes a decent time pass. It feels like a TV western episode.
