This was the first film in a trilogy of "Aztec Mummy" films that were shot back to back with the same cast and crew and location footage being shot for all three films at the same time.
The first film in the "Aztec Mummy" trilogy had a running time of about one hour and 20 minutes. The two sequels that followed it both had running times of just over one hour, with the rest of their running times both made up of flashbacks that were composed of an ample amount of stock footage from the first film in the second film and ample amounts of stock footage from both the first film and the second film in the third film.
This film, like many others, was inspired by the "Bridey Murphy" case, in which "hypnotic regression" supposedly allowed a person to recall events from a previous life.
This film was featured in "How the World Remade Hollywood" by Ed Glaser.
