Ursula Andress was cast only after Ann-Margret was forced to withdraw due to too many commitments with other studios.
This movie heavily influenced Mike Myers's creation of the Austin Powers films. The faux band Ming Tea, features in the first Austin Powers installment, took its name from a product advertised in The 10th Victim.
Andress and Mastroianni dated during production and briefly rekindled the fling in 1975 while Ursula was on a break from Fabio Testi. By the time she and Marcello made Double Murder (1977), their second movie together, they were just friends.
Set in the year 2079 in the aftermath of World War III - even though it has some distinctly 1965 touches.
