Last effort by Jacques Pinoteau, Claude 's brother ,the end of a doomed career whoich essentialy consists of coarse farces with the exception of the first one " Ils étaient cinq" which recalled Clouzot's screenplay "le dernier des six.
Less doomed this one, thanks to Dany Saval , who has plenty of go, as blonde bimbo, less clueless and smarter than she appeared first .Her boyfriend was a macho in the making who did not want her to talk about racing cars but to be content with shampoo .She decided she would try the forty-something men ;thanks to excellent actors, there are good moments ;by and large , le movie is divided into three parts /sketches :
1) the date :Paolo Ferrari ,Michel Serrault
our pretty manucurist is invited by two married men who intends to spend the night with her ;but when discovers they're both married, she plans a sweet revenge ;except for the final free-for-all , it's watchable
2)We're not on the same planet : Michel Galabru,Paul Hubshmid Our manucurist falls in love with a handsome doctor; as a less-than-handsome suitor invites her to spend a weekend in the posh Deauville where her good-looking physician stays ,she seizes the opportunity : the scene of the hotel where Galabru pretends he's booked two rooms is much fun ; this segment is the only one in which some bitterness filters through,in the scene on the pier.
3)How not to marry a millionaire Paul Meurisse He is my favorite actor in the whole movie, but he was given the poorest sketch ; the subject,-I do not want to be married for my dough- is hackneyed ,and the story has been seen a hundred times or more by the average viewer ;to crown it all, it ends with the young boyfriend 's military service , that, like anyone past infancy knows, made him a man able to come to the damsel in distress' rescue ;ridiculous ending , enhanced , so to speak,by a horrible song by Les Parisiennes ,a girl group who represented the anti - woman's lib of sorts.
Two watchable parts, you make it on the percentages ,but lose out on the bonuses.
