QTTV might have been a spoof on independent Los Angeles station KTTV, which was owned by Metromedia at the time. The station first broadcast in 1949.
QTTV is the TV station's name, just like in two earlier shorts Wideo Wabbit (1956) and People Are Bunny (1959).
The various and sundry television antennas shown in the opening credits are examples of how TV had to be watched when this short was made.
Daffy rides a sporty motor scooter, a popular and stylish mode of transportation at the time.
Although Daffy references the popular Jan and Dean song, "The Little Old Lady from Pasadena," both the song and the Dodge TV ad that introduced the elder stateswoman of Pasadena would not formally be introduced to the media until early 1964.
