QTTV might have been a spoof on independent Los Angeles station KTTV, which was owned by Metromedia at the time. The station first broadcast in 1949.
QTTV is the TV station's name, just like in two earlier shorts Wideo Wabbit (1956) and People Are Bunny (1959).
The "Million Box" prize (with 1,000,000 $1 dollar bills, 1 inside every box). The way the million box was created as a very large "wooden cube" is, there are 100 aisles of 100: from top to bottom, front to back and left to right. 100 x 100 x 100 = 1,000,000.
The various and sundry television antennas shown in the opening credits are examples of how TV had to be watched when this short was made.
The jetpack Daffy uses was still being perfected in real life, though it would star front and center a few years later in the James Bond film "Thunderball."
