As an inside joke, in The 400 Blows (1959) the film Antoine Doinel and his parents go to see is "Paris Belongs to Us", which wouldn't be released for another two years.
Jacques Rivette's first feature film. Written in 1957 and shot from July to November 1958, post-production was delayed for six months due to lack of funds, but the film was finally completed in late 1959. However, two years then elapsed in the search for a distributor, so it did not premiere until December 1961.
This film is part of the Criterion Collection, spine #802.
